Castles

I have to say that I prefer Thompson's pre-digital work. The colours are too smooth and the elements are too uniform for me, and I speak as a huge fan of his pen and ink illustrations, such as in Ruby or The Paperbag Prince. I know from his website that he prefers to use digital media now, which seems a real shame.

This book keeps us busy looking for the royal families, again and again, because we always miss some. Great fun! And I love the little stories about the castles too!

Amazing images that i loved. Imaginative and bold. My vlass were really inspired by the castles in literacy and art.

I have read this book several times with a diverse range of students and they've all enjoyed it with me. It's a great way to reach more reluctant or shy students by engaging their imagination and getting them guessing what might be on the next page. Lots of "oohs" and "aaahs" :) LOTS of visual appeal through Colin Thompson's fantastical illustrations. You won't regret your purchase!
