An indispensable book that exposes the grip of the RSS over India.
This is a very important book that is based on thorough research. It describes the whole history of the RSS, from its formation to now, its influence on Indian politics and much more importantly, it exposes its fascist ideology by referring to the RSS founding-fathers' own writings. Consequently, the arguments made by the author are very cogent. These discussions are timely because since Modi's election and reelection in 2014 and 2019, respectively, India has veered towards a right-wing government. This has resulted in unprovoked airstrikes in Pakistan, stripping of the autonomy of Kashmir - a dream come true for the RSS, and much more recently, enabling the Citizen Amendment Act which is perceived to be anti-Muslim and which has triggered enormous protests in India. Beyond the double-talks and rhetoric of officials, this book gives penetrating insights that can explain why Modi's government is acting as it is.

Reeks of bias
Like too many Marxist scholars of his generation, Noorani can scarcely contain his utter contempt for Hindus and their traditions in general, let alone their right to political self-expression as represented and safeguarded by the RSS. Little wonder then that his book serves only as a vehicle for his disdain, teaching the reader next to nothing in the process.Having no factual basis on which to attack what is essentially a charitable social-service organization, he relies instead on vapid polemic dredged out from the sewer of long-discredited Marxist theory to smear the RSS with a mouthful of rhetorical labels. He further attempts to revitalize this old-fashioned formula by stirring in some new-fangled fake news, including unsupportable allegations about the RSS' connection to this or that violent incident in modern Indian history. All he succeeds in doing, however, is to establish his own rabid Hinduphobia. This is definitely not worth a read, and not worth a purchase unless you're in the habit of subsidizing closet jihadis with lots to hate and little to say.

Falsehoods within a book designed to character assasinate an organization doing Good.
Factually incorrect and full of hyperbole and nonsense. If you want an Islamist point of view propagated by decades of brainwashing of Indian Youth within a carefully tailored education system to fracture and weaken the culture and ethos of India and of it's the majority population, here it is.The Indian Judicial System has a long standing rot and this book exemplifies this rot. That such obvious propaganda and outright propagation of untruths and nonsense can be formulated by and 'advocate' is a glaring example of why the BJP won the last two elections. The culmination of a mindset created and fostered in an Education system dissected in https://www.amazon.com/s?k=brainwashed+republic&i=stripbooks&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

Colored Views
The unfortunate truth is that the authors religious views influence this book to an extent which makes this book as work of fiction based on corrupted and incorrect commentary. The author at no point of time comes out of his narrow religious bigoted state of mind which means that there is no objectivity in this book.

Better to read it in one's mother tongue
The book is well written. However the language is a bit high class. Hence the reading was not a free flow. Secondly the author's writing and his quotes of others/from other books was not laid properly, making it difficult to distinguish between both.
