Seals well and installs easy.
This bushing seals well in cast iron plumbing hubs. Allows you to use ABS or PVC pipe with your old cast iron sewer pipes.NOTE: Just info that you might find helpful. The way you install these bushings is to lubricate the outside edges with food grade silicone plumbers grease. Don't lubricate the inside of the bushing where your ABS or PVC goes. This method allows you to pound the bushing in the cast iron hub and draw in the pipe at the same time. If you lube the inside of the bushing, it will be difficult to get the pipe and bushing installed.Additional NOTE: Fernco's LARGER bushings (such as the 4 inch that only has about a 1/4 inch of bushing material) is impossible to get in a cast iron hub with using the silicone outer circumference lubrication and pounding method. Don't waste your time. Heat up the bushing in boiling water for about 3 minutes and then install the bushing in the cast iron hub while its hot and pliable. Then tap your large 4 inch pipe in position. It installs like butter that way. Make sure your ABS or PVC pipe has a chamfer on the end so it doesn't cut up your Fernco bushing during installation.

Warm it up in boiling water first, then it's like clay in your hands. 😉
It worked great. Just be careful it seats to the same depth all the way around - mine slipped in too deep on one side as I was hammering my PVC into place.

Perfect for the situation!
Was able to replace a rotted cast iron “wye” using this product without having to become a major project. It allowed me to do minimal work in a tight situation replacing the minimal parts as possible. It’s a tight fit trying to get the ABS pipe into the “donut”. Lubricating and beveling the lead edge of the ABS helps in achieving the fit. Would definitely use again when needed.

Was very tight with 4" abs as it should. Thanks to a guy in the comments, use dish soap. I'd buy again it was hard to find.
