First: update your burner firmware!
My experience may help you decide about this product.UPDATE YOU BURNER FIRMWARE before you even try to burn!I received a pack of these 50 GB BD discs a couple of days back.I am using ImgBurn (free) software AND I have **three** LG Blu-Ray burners: models BH14NS40 and WH16NS40.The first two burners handled these discs with no problem. Then on the third burner (with original firmware level 1.0) repeatedly reported via ImgBurn: 'unable to calibrate write power'.Quickly did some GOOGLE'ing and followed the advice found: Put the model number plus the words 'firmware update' in Google and it leads to the LG support page. Downloaded the firmware updater executable for the LG model under Windows (latest works for all versions of Windows actually) Running the update took a total of 15 seconds followed by rebooting the computer.THEN using the same DB disk that couldn't burn, burned on 45 GB of data files, verified and then verified again by copying to another computer with a different burner.SO UPDATE you FIRMWARE before you even begin. :^)The Manufacturer ID for the batch of BD discs that I received is CMCMAG-D16-000.If you Google that you will find that this manufacturer's factory produces excellent video recording blanks over the years. Will be buying these again: such a good price!**UPDATE** 30MAR15 Have now burned 20 of the 25 ... all perfect burns right up to full capacity of discs. Perfect read-back, perfect copy- back on all 20 discs that I have burned (which contain data and my MP4 videos). Buying another pack today. Such a good price!**UPDATE** 30AUG16 It's 1-1/2 years since I wrote my original review: have now burned 100s of these: buying more tonight. This product is just great.

Took the risk with these and they paid off!
I saw these at a local retailer and they were much more. The only positive thing was there were a few reviews there, with all being positive. I said to myself what did I have to lose. I am glad I did, as these are burning and playing great! And at this price, they are the most affordable dl media I have ever purchased. At 2.00 a disc, I could afford a few coasters, but have yet to have even one(I am through half the pack) The media is easily writable with a fine tipped sharpie(or if you have a printer, the surface is very absorbent and dries quickly), unlike many other brands that are waxy. I am using an Asus external blue ray burner if that helps anyone interested (media and burner selection can be such a chore).I am extremely satisfied and will definately purchase more! Excellent price and quality!

Disks fail on data verification
The top two disks in the stack worked fine. Every disk after that failed.I tried to burn about 8 more of these dual layer disks. They gave no errors during writing, but every single one failed during the data verification process, with corrupted data.I even tried two different brand-new BL writers from different manufacturers, which have no problem writing disks from other brands, and lower writing speeds. No luck.Since it takes about an hour each to write these disks I gave up and threw the entire stack into the trash (it's way too late to return to Amazon by now). Looks like bad quality control of cheaply made disks.

I'm very surprised
Strange but I actually love the brand. the 25gb always work flawlessly but for some reason the 50gb discs are almost horrible. I used about 10 of them as of to date and 4 were duds. I hear ALOT of loud noise from the burner thru out the entire burn process. I'm guessing the discs are spinning extra hard and when they are done, sometimes they are really hot. I just stopped using them. Shame cause Valuediscs were always my #1 brand for years.

For me a no go on LG WH16NS40 (FW: 1.02)
MID: CMCMAG-DI6-000I use the 25GB version regularly and they work perfect for me. CMC Magnetics makes great optical media in my opinion, however, this Dual Layer version didn't work for me. I'll keep trying till I find the one that works best and stick with those. I returned these.

4 Four Stars
Does not work in a Pioneer BDR-203, even with the latest firmware.Edit - Had suspected for a while that the BDR drive was just not good anymore. Purchased a replacement unit, this time an LG 14x Unit (Look it up here on Amazon, WH14NS40) and it's been burning the disks just fine so far.Didn't realize the Pioneer was 5+ years old when I posted this review. I have not flashed the LG drive yet, it's using whichever firmware arrived.

Just What I Need.
The disc are excellent for me to burn my kind movies and data’s all in one disc. Plus to make a CD print on top of the front disc is all more I need to be more creative.
