A gentle and effective exfoliating soap
The smell is herbal apothecary which I like but most people might find offputting because its strong & lingering. Using this soap properly is about a 30 minute commitment. Your skin needs to be water saturated for best effect, then the soap has to stay on your skin for 15 minutes before you scrub and rinse it off. Sometimes you will see pilling and other times white foamy stuff after you rinse off. Thats the dead skin. This soap works best when used with Italia clothes , rough washcloth, or scrubbing netting. Doesn't work as well when used with a loafah.

A lovely exfoliating soap
Honestly love this soap. I found that the best way to use it is to steam your skin under hot water first to sort of "loosen" the skin, then apply the soap everywhere and leave it on without washing off for the time shown on the soap (like 10-15 minutes). Then take an italy towel, and scrub. Literal chunks of dead skin come off, huge amounts of grey old flakes that I've never had occur with any other type of soap. This is really incredible for keratosis pilaris, and helped prevent most of the body breakouts I typically get from lifeguarding (sweat + sunscreen for long hours is not a good combination) and I noticed an improvement in skin smoothness and texture. It hasn't done that much for scars, but using this soap post chemical peel helped me get rid of the peeling skin easier. (Don't do that unless the skin's already coming off by itself after the peel though , or you'll get skin darkening and scarring. I'm just impatient lol.) This soap also worked wonders on ingrown hairs that I had from shaving, and got rid of my godawful "strawberry legs". It just looks smooth and lovely. The fragrance is herbal, like ginseng. While bathing, the bathroom will smell like the soap, but I haven't found the scent to linger post shower. Its similar to other hanbang type scents, which I personally like. This soap + an italy towel + a hot shower = your new wifey, don't hesitate.

I didn’t get the same results, but it’s not bad.
I soaked, lathered, waited 15 minutes and then scrubbed, the results were very much like using regular soap. It smells kind of like cinnamon and ginseng to me so it smells nice. I’ll keep using it to see if the results are better over time. It’s still a good soap.

Maybe I got a dud?
As an avid exfoliator, general smooth skin enthusiast, and long time Korean skin care admirer, I was real excited about this! I followed directions (specifically the detailed ones outlined in a couple other reviews on here 😘) and I was massaging the soap throughout, didn't just let it dry on the skin while I waited, anyway I was preparing myself emotionally for the incomparable joy of shedding all that dead skin but alas, nothing happened. I used a proper scrub mit that normally does this job on its own, nothing was happening. Also there was no strong scent that a little people had mentioned, so that makes me wonder if I got a dud somehow. Otherwise I don't get why I'd have no results but a lot of other people were blown away by theirs. So I'm gonna return it.

Quite the experience
Read a bunch of reviews to learn how to use the soap so here’s how I did it-(1) soak for 20 minutes (2) lather the soap all over (3) sit outside of bath for 15 minutes (4) scrub with Italy towel (5) rinseWhile the experience isn’t all that pleasant the peel was extremely satisfying. The layer of dead skin on top of my bath water was disgusting and my skin was baby soft after. The only issues are the process and the smell. The smell is unbelievable. My entire apartment smelled so bad it was nauseating. I put the soap in a bag inside a bag inside a bag etc (5 bags) and it still smelled. I have to keep it outside. It’s insane how strong the smell is but somehow it doesn’t make your body smell after rinsing it off.I use it about once a month so it’s worth the weird smell and experience.

Smells delicious
I’m not yet sure about the exfoliating properties of this soap because I didn’t do the whole scrub thing tonight. I simply soaped with it because it was new and arrived in the mail today. So following the review of not smelling good, my opinion stands to differ… I think it smells really good 😃 I might add to this review this weekend when I take the time to do the whole scrubby thing with letting it sit on the skin and scrubbing with the mitts and back towel. I don’t generally even buy soap because I make my own, but following a trip to a Korean spa I felt the need to buy a bar. I already love it and it smells really good 😊
