Love on Beach Avenue

Probst has done it again!
Talk about the perfect beach read this summer...I'm ordering the sequel immediately. I love it when an author of romance has a good story arc with well-developed characters and the HEA (Happily Ever After) romance readers expect. Avery Sunshine, a top-notch wedding planner is successful in everything, except romance. When Carter Ross comes on the scene to help plan his sister's wedding, Avery is forced to confront her romance demons. She does this, and grows as a person, transforming into her authentic self. It isn't just Avery who transforms in this book, but I'm not going to ruin the fun for you. Pick it up for yourself.TOP 5 FAVE THINGS ABOUT THIS BOOK:1. Avery is a professional woman who owns her success, and her chocolate croissants without guilt.2. Carter is not your normal stud-muffin. Nope, he's able to tote a tiny terrier around without shame and it only magnifies his manliness.3. The family ties in this book are strong, realistic, and heartwarming. I wish I had sisters like Bella and Taylor4. The hidden language of wedding planners. I'm totally stealing PITA for life situations. It's flexible.5. The humor, vulnerability, and unique turns this book contains.

Disappointing
A cute premise, but never saw its potential. The first half of this book was very difficult to get into. I actually threw it across the room several times. I thought the hero was an overbearing and overly competitive bully. It frustrated me that he continually won each of the "bets" and "knew better" than the heroine who ran a successful bridal business and communicated with the bride-to-be about what her choices for her own wedding were. I did retrieve it from the trash, because I do like Jennifer Probst and wanted to see what other readers found good about the book. The second half of the book (from Chapter 12 on) is better but I'm not sure how they got there. There is an attraction, but no real romance. I never cared about what happened to the hero and heroine.

Love Wins
Love On Beach Avenue is a wonderfully written novel set at the beach starring a wedding planner and a hacker for the government. I loved everything about it. Avery knew her stuff and I really enjoyed Carter pushing her to compete with him throughout the story. I'm definitely looking forward to reading her two sisters stories as well!!!
