I was hoping to save myself some time by using these to make signs for an event. It looked ok immediately after doing it. The next day it had become streaky to the point I decided to redo it by different means. One of the pieces I made originally was left outside and the moisture from the air turned it into a complete mess. Not even rain, just moisture.Maybe a sealant would make these markers hold their lines better.Live and learn.

I was disappointed. Maybe I didn’t know what to expect, but it seems this product is just an dye that changes color when you apply the slightest bit of heat to it. It’s doubtful, to me, that the ink of the pen is making it easier to burn the wood.It’s not burning the wood. It’s simply changing the color of the dye to black.To test this I put the heat gun on the lowest setting and held it off the “ink” about a foot. The ink changed colors almost instantly. The air coming out of my heat gun was cooler then that of a hair dryer. I even held it over my hand and had to laugh because of how ridiculous it was.This is an ink changing dye.Your breath is even warm enough to change it.

Used this on 2 cutting boards. When primed it to work so much product cam out it bleed under the stencil and ruined the product. Not knowing how much was need to achieve the burn effect. As I went ont to the next item because the run had calmed down the second item was fine. Seems very wasteful.

Like other reviews the next day, you couldn't even read or make out details on wooden ornament I made. Bleeding was a problem, I used both pens for different designs, both bled, doesn't look anything like burnt wood markings, looks like I wrote in a colored marker that I left on too long. Very disappointed in this product.

Tried these just for fun, they bled through the stencil. It just didn’t look right, Honestly I thought it looked more like a marker Wrote on wood as opposed to wood-burning. I think for a wood burning look you want to actually use a woodburning tool.
