This is a great, easy to assemble pergola. One tip would be to use an electric drill with the correct size hex fitting - game changer, and smashed the build time. This is a great product - yes, some of the finishing wasn't perfect (few rough edges etc) but for the cost, it's amazing, and we love it. Our old gazibo had to be weighed down or secured in some other way - this is so sturdy, it would take a hurricane to shift it. Cover is really easy to move and gives great protection from sunlight and privacy too. Really can't fault it.

My wife and I brought this sun shade as we are doing up our garden for our little girl. We thought some shade for the lay-z-spa would be a good idea as she does like to make a splash in there.So first things first, the price. We found this to be cheaper than most other alternatives available and was one of the main reasons we purchased it.In terms of delivery, they gave a delivery date and it arrived on time with no delays.The tools they supply we didn't feel were adequate for the job, as they are much too small. Thankfully we had a torque wrench (10mm and 14mm for those that have them and have purchased the sun shade), and this sped things up considerably. Also a hammer was found to be very useful as some of the metal wasn't brilliant. On the legs there were a lot of small pieces protruding that prevented the top pieces from sitting properly so you had to give it a good wack to get it sitting right.We also found that things didn't line up properly (pictures included) for us it was one hole on each leg. We eventually ended up scuffing a lot of the metal to try and get it to fit, but to no avail.All in all, the sun shade does as advertised. With the right tools it's also pretty easy to set up, but be prepared for things not lining up.If you're not too bothered about the aesthetic and more focused on the functionality then I'd go for this.

Pleased with this pergola , very sturdy and easy to remove canopy if weather changes !! Great size as I didn't want a 3x3 this is a bit smaller and rectangle shape,so doesn't take up too much space.Provides good shelter and is used as an outside room !! Great customer service too. Would recommend an electric screw driver with correct bit ! Made building the pergola much quicker and easier than using the spanner provided.

Surprised how sturdy this was as it is very reasonably priced. Just one or two screw holes didn’t line up so was unable to put all screws in but this is not an issue.Easy to assemble and looks great. Have recommended it to a friend who will be placing an order soon

The media could not be loaded.  This is less than a year old,it has been folded away(in my house) all winter & only put back on in middle of May.Really disappointed it ripped & came away from the seems so easily

This arrived quickly & well packaged. I used a local handyman to put it together for me as I'm disabled & it took him roughly an hour & a half including coffee :)He was very impressed with sturdiness of the pergola and asked me to send him the link so he could buy one for his mum, so it's recommended by both of us. Lovely quality, looks beautiful, and the lightweight canopy is easy to put on with a small step, I just wove it over the ends, under the next bar then over the middle etc & down the other side - simple. Then you just slide up or down either end for shade as needed.Even simpler to remove, just remove the bar from one end, undo the velcro straps and roll up from the other. Cannot find fault with this item, very happy to give five stars :)

The media could not be loaded.  The pergola fit the bill in terms of size and the sliding canopy and was fairly easy to put together, 2 of us managed fine. A few holes didnt quite line up brilliantly but we managed. Some of the edges were very rough and my husband did cut himself on one of them so be careful! Overall the quality is not that great, there were scratches and a few dents. Less than 24 hours after we put it up there was heavy rainfall. The next day we noticed rust where the scratches were and pools of rusty water coming from the bottom. Really disappointing, especially as this has stained the decking. I contacted the seller MHStar via Amazon and their customer service rep was quick to respond & asked for pictures and a list of the damaged parts, however no replacement parts were offered, only a partial refund to keep it as it was. Considering the replacement would probably be just as shoddy we negotiated a reasonable discount and we will have to take it all apart, treat the rusty areas, and reassemble. Annoying, but not the end of the world. I must also add that the canopy is not that good and doesnt really block much sun, it still shines through very brightly which did not happen with our previous pop up gazebo. I will more than likely purchase better quality UV resistant fabric to make another one. Its also worth adding that you need straps across the top to keep the canopy from billowing as it just slides up & down in the wind. We have temporarily used twine but will try bungee cord as a previous reviewer has done as this will be easier to remove when taking the canopy off. All in all, if there was another product on the market that fit our needs i probably would have returned this for a full refund and bought something else, however, due to the space we have, nothing else off the shelf is suitable within our budget. It'll do... and time will tell how long this lasts being out in all weathers

We are using this product over our barbecue so that I can still grill like a proper Canadian even though the UK weather suggests more of a boiled sausages and tears kind of diet.The only negative is the metal rods used to weigh down the cover often slip out and bang against the pillars. I would suggest taking off the shade cover in the wind.
