Product Description [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand] .com Three cheers for anyone who skips down roads not taken, but records as eclectic as this one are what keep David Byrne from approaching the level of success he had with the Talking Heads. Most intriguing here are the tracks co-produced with U.K. trip-hoppers Morcheeba, among them "Daddy Go Down," which mixes Asia Minor with Ashley MacIsaac's backwoods fiddle stomp. Meanwhile, Mark Mothersbaugh brings a hint of Devo lunacy to "Wicked Little Doll," while the Luaka Bop Latin touch shows up on "Miss America." --Jeff Bateman

Well worth rediscovering in 2017 for songs like Dance on Vaseline
I nearly forgot about this gem from the 90s! Well worth rediscovering in 2017 for songs like Dance on Vaseline, The Civil Wars and Miss America.

David has Feelings, and this entire CD has every track spot on. Great and catchy tunes.
Another great series of tracks put together on the Feelings CD. Classic David with the continued creativity expressed in this release

Best surprise I ever got
Already a talking heads fan I stumbled across this in a dump bin for $2 so I said sure why not and was blown away. I was hooked by track 2 "miss America "

"Feelings" is worth your attention
this takes a few listens to get accustomed to. but once you get settled, it's a nice ride. tropicalia, electronica, folktronica(?) alot of unique influence and it could have been a giant mess. but david pulls it together to form a cohesive album whose results are touching, and sometimes humorous. my favorite song would no doubt be "A Soft Seduction." great lyrics to that one. the cover and design concept is also quite great. my only complaint is that it could have been alot more streamlined and better if it were about 3-4 songs less. but all the songs are nice and it would have been hard to choose the ones to leave off. good go, then!

Pleasant, Burt Not Essential
The most arresting element of this CD, unfortunately, is the case itself - with its David Byrne doll photos, oddly laid-out credits, "David Byrne Mood Computer" and so on. The music on the CD isn't bad at all, but it seems too much thought went in the wrong direction. The music isn't catchy or intriguing enough to hold heavy interest all the way through. That's not to say there aren't highlights - "Miss America" sounds like a REI MOMO track revisted in a more modern setting, "Dance on Vaseline" is slippery fun, and I also like "Amnesia". But it's hard for me to get too into this album when I know he's done better. Neophytes are advised to start elsewhere (REI MOMO or UH-OH) - growing fans can pick it up without worrying.
