Compact Empty Palette Case

This is the perfect size for throwing in my small watercolor travel satchel.It is so versatile; you can mix half-pans with full pans or just use one size and get enough varietyin colors to complete any subject. I do not use the magnetic pans designed for this palette case or glue them down.I haven't had any trouble with pans falling out or lifting up as I get paint. I like that I can put in different pansof color as the mood strikes me. I have two of these palette cases and take both of them when I go on trips.But I also like the flexibility of day use - I can sketch then watercolor wherever I am...even on the 2 hour bus ride to see my sister.

Exactly as described and will suit my needs.For watercolor, it would be better to have the inside of the lid white for mixing, but then you wouldn't read the Whiskey Painter's branding logo.About the size of the old Whitman Sampler metal tins you can't get any more. Larger than the Altoids, which don't hold as many pans.

UPDATE: I updated this review from a 4 star to 5 because of EXCELLENT customer service. Thank you for your help!~I like it. It feels and looks nice. It holds my little magnetic half pans well. (I just use 8 colors.) And it opens and closes nicely.If you are getting this it should probably be for the minimalism. If you're wanting more than 12 colors, try something bigger.

This is an OK box. I think the rounded corners limit what can be put in for pans.

The box is ideal. It is so small that I forget it's in my bag. I love being able to swap the pans out. I like to buy tubes and fill my own pans. Change your palette with easy snap in and out pans.

Terrific little pans, the magnet makes using them wonderfully simple!

This palette is designed poorly because of the rounded corners--the pans don't fit in nicely. If they had squared off the corners and customized the box to actually accommodate the pans and half pans, it would've been terrific and 15 half pans could've fit. I wrote an email to the company but got no response. I know it's an inexpensive item but too bad, since they had sent me an email asking for my feedback.I don't understand how other reviews can give this item a high rating. The pans don't fit in well, so how can that be good?!

Nice looking, but really no better quality than an Altoids box, which I can get for MUCH less from a store in town. $10.99 is a lot for a simple tin box with nothing in it - a waste of money.
