is it true that you have to bite the tip of straw in order to drink?

No you don't have to bite the tip to draw liquid. The straw is a free-flow, only suction is required to drink from it.

Does anyone know how the cap is supposed to work with this? Its too short and squishes the sipping part. Given the design of it, the water spills out.

Does this come with the stainless steel rim? And if not can you just buy that piece?

Hi Penny, no this is just the straw component alone. Please note, it is CLEAR and not blue like the pictures show - we are attempting to work with our Amazon partners to update the listings. You can call us directly and order the stainless collars, but we do not currently sell them through any other channel. Each of our bottles comes with a collar, and all of our components fit with every bottle. Hope this helps!

Does this straw work with the 5 ounce bottles? Or is it too long?

Hi Monica, good question! Lots of customers want to use this straw with their 5 oz. bottles and we have a couple of solutions for you:1) The straw is actually two pieces. You can remove the long straw piece and install just the top portion on your 5 oz. bottles. You can then use it like a traditional sippy cup by simply tipping the bottle.2) Cut the straw down to length.
