I liked that it does not use any batteries however was not made aware it was shipped from USA so now what do I do to return it as it does not work at all?

I tried it out just for kicks on my steaks that were being fried up in my Cast Iron skillet.I used a temperature chart for various steak cooks and I must say that my steak turned out EXACTLY like I wanted.Definately a.neede

I purchased this thermometer mainly because it reads temperatures up to 550 degrees F. I use this for monitoring frying oil and like that the stem is 12” long and it has a clip that holds it to the side of the pan. It gets up to temperature quickly. I’ve seen some comments that buyers are disappointed with the long stem, but it keeps the dial above the heat and makes it easy to read. The key is clipping it onto the pan correctly. The thermometer also has a moveable red marker that you can use to set the temperature you want to monitor so it’s even easier to see. I know it’s just a thermometer, but this is really one of the best I can imagine for how I use it. Also, it arrived next day and was packaged very well.
