Great lock- easy to install

Great item for the price.

Bought it to work with LiftMaster LA500 gate operator. Wiring is simple, if 24V DC power is available. Lock mechanism is good and strong. Keep in mind that your power supply should provide enough amp to drive the lock and the operator together, if you are using the gate operator power supply to operate the lock.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The extra very small circuit board add on provided to make it work with a 24v gate did not work correctly even though I followed the wiring instructions. i have a topens automatic gate A5 so a very standard brand. In order to get it to work I had to buy a step down converter from 24v to 12v and but it in line between the control box and the gate lock.

With one exception, this is an excellent gate lock that worked great in conjunction with my double swing gate and a Liftmaster control panel. I was able to wire it into the "lock" terminals in the panel and it locked and unlocked appropriately. The one exception, which is why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars, is that it comes without mounting screws and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it does not specify sizes. I decided to use 1/4" self driving metal screws with hex heads on the tubular steel my gate is made of. However, the heads were so "fat" in the receiver that the lock could not engage. So, I had to purchase pan head screws which worked just fine. The instructions need to note that very flat head mounting hardware is needed in the receiver.

I bought this gate lock hoping it would be a reliable, heavy-duty solution—but it really fell short. The magnet coil failed after just 8 hours of being in the unlocked mode. My plan was to leave the gate open during the day and lock it at night, which doesn't seem like too much to ask. On top of that, it caused a short circuit, which is a serious safety issue. To make things worse, there was no 1-year warranty coverage, even though it's advertised as a durable product. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend it.

Liked: it holds its own, secure and works as intended. Good price - you get what you pay for. It's strong, rugged, and performs well. Don't like: the electrical cable is long enough to connect to control box for 13' foot gates, but not long enough for 14' ft or longer gates. You will need to buy additional cable, or longer cable to do so with Longer gates 😮‍💨.

Excelente producto justo lo que anuncian... lo volvería a comprar, sujeta de maravilla mi portón y además me da más seguridad a mi sistema eléctrico
