Classic and solid.
Even though these came from a separate place than the dinner plates, the color was spot on , a perfect match, which was one of the reasons I purchased them. Fiestaware has been around for ages and it's still available! And if one breaks, I know I can one to replace it. Love the color. Came packaged really well.

Iconic, sturdy dishware--cannot go wrong
When I was growing up, my mom had a very colorful set of Fiesta she had inherited from her own mother. My favorite Fiesta color of all time is the red/orange vintage color, no longer produced. When my wife and I married years ago, we registered for two sets of Fiesta--a fuller set in white, and a partial set of various colors. We have the dinner plates, lunch plates, salad plates, and cereal bowls in white for our main use, and a few other pieces in both white and various colors for serving bowls, dessert, etc. We use the white for everyday use and mix in the color on special occasions. This is beautiful dishware no matter what color you get. Elegant enough to impress guests, but sturdy and functional for everyday use. I love that there are so many pieces to mix and match from, and so many colors that rotate from time to time. They have been making this for decades now, so you can buy in confidence knowing that you can expand your collection over time or replace pieces. Of course, if you drop something on the tile floor, it might break, which is why we had to buy a few replacement salad plates in white recently.

A lovely substitute
I had an incomplete, very old (?1930's) set of multi-colored dishes than were my grandmother's. I loved the dinner plates because they were a 9 1/2 inch plate instead of the giant plates we see now. Most had become chipped and worn, and I began to worry about lead, etc. I decided to replaced them with multi-colored Fiestaware. I bought 6 each of the salad and luncheon plates in different colors. They are fantastic and are true to the memory of my grandmother. The luncheon plate is 9" and perfect for me for dinner. The salad plate is perfect for a small lunch. I also got 6 of the 6 1/2 oz bowls for fruit, dips, etc. The only reason I didn't get soup bowls is that with the lip, they were going to take up way too much space in my cabinet. All of these dishes are quality, nicely weighted, lovely colored, solidly made and, I hope, enduring pieces.

Beautiful but -- Don't order fragile items from Amazon!
I use Amazon - a lot. 22 orders in the last six months. I recently decided to try to order Fiestaware thru Amazon, because it is hard to find all the colors I want in the quantity I want from any brick-and-mortar merchants. So I ordered 6 dinner plates and 6 salad plates. I got that package with 1 of each plate broken. So I ordered 3 more of each, 1 to replace the broken piece and 2 to bring the total to 8 of each dish. That package came and as soon as I picked it up I heard broken pieces inside. Ugh. The box was too large for the items and they were just loose in there. None of the boxes I received with dishes or porcelains in them were marked as Fragile, packed with any special care, or handled by the shipper in any special manner. This is a big mistake on Amazon's part. If they are going to sell these items, they must take their fragility into consideration with special packaging and packages marked as Fragile.Very frustrating and a puzzling oversight by Amazon. I ended going to Macy's, who did not have all the pieces I wanted but are going to ship them to me with no shipping charge. They told me they do package the dishes with care, so we will see.--- I'm editing the review because I did what I hate when others do it - I basically reviewed the shipment rather than the product. Regarding the product - I just re-vamped my dish situation after many years of putting up with mismatched old sets from my youth. I decided to open up one of my cabinets and put some colorful dishes in it to add more color to my house. I decided on Fiesta, which I have always liked. I got tangerine, shamrock, turquoise, sunflower and peacock items and I could not be happier with the result. Now my kitchen - and open great-room - are punched up with these vibrant colors. The shamrock is stunning against cherry cabinets. Both the shamrock and turquoise colors are prettier and more vibrant than appears online. I see more pieces coming in my future!

Purchased in several colors!
I love the colors and feel of Fiesta Ware. It wasn't only the look and quality that first drew me to the Fiesta line of dishes, but what sold me was that they are made in the USA. I bought these in several different colors to mix and match because I couldn't decide on just one. These are definitely quality made dishes that will last a long time, provided you treat them well. They do have some weight on them and because they have such a nice smooth finish, they can get a bit slippery when hand washing, which is something my husband had commented about while washing the plates, so make sure you get a nice grip on them. They are pricey, but in my opinion...it is well worth it! Will definitely be adding to my Fiesta dishes for the years to come!

THE FiESTA LINE OF DISHES ARE A QUALITY PRODUCT
I love the colors and the overall design of all of the Fiesta line products ( and we have several). Durability is good, colors don't fade, they do not get hair line cracks and do not stain. They love the dishwasher , however after many years some chips are appearing.

Great Plates, but a bit small for a Salad Plate.
These plates are very nice and will fit well with the other Fiesta dishes that I have begun to collect. They are the perfect size for a sandwich or my morning toast and are good quality and made in the USA. The reason I gave them only four stars is that I personally think the 7-1/4 inch size is a bit small for a salad plate. Maybe my objection is a function of the large portions that many American restaurants commonly serve, but this plate will certainly not hold the salad that I generally serve at home either. These small plates are great and I use them every day, but anyone buying them to use as a salad plate will very likely be disappointed. I would suggest that the Fiesta 14 oz. small bowl or even the 19oz. medium bowl as a better option for individual servings of salad.
