Kind of works, but pricey
We have an (approximately) 20,000 gallon salt water pool, with pale blue plaster. I had to use about half of this bottle to make it turn fairly green, but still clear enough that you could see the bottom. The green color stayed for about 3 days, and by then had faded until it was barely noticeable. When I cleaned the filter, there was a LOT of green color coming off it - so I'm not sure if the filter was removing it, or if it just stuck. There are hints of green stains around the (white) tiles lining the pool.

Deep-lake green for the Black Lake from Harry Potter
My eight-year-old son just completed a two-month barrage of Harry Potter movies and decided that he'd like his birthday party to have a Harry Potter theme. While the party began with wand selection, a Sorting Hat dorm selection (using a baby monitor under a big, pointed hat) and a find the golden snitch game, the climax was the Black Lake pool. We heated the pool up, dumped in half a bottle of green "Party Pool" and threw in a lot of vines and elephant ear leaves. Party was a huge success due, in part, to Party Pool.Note that the pool cleared up gradually within two days of normal filtering. I didn't take out the cartridge pool filter to see if it was green, but it's been several days now and everything is all shipshape again.
