Great 16 Amp Charger
Got this for my new hybrid SUV. The vehicle came with a 110V charger but that takes over 24 hours to fully charge the batteries. This Clipper Creek works off 220/240V with up to 16A and does the job in about 6 hours. It has adequate cord length to hang next to my wall outlet, and then fully 25 feet of cord to get to the SUV...more than most, I think. It has a light to show it is powered, and another to show when it is charging the vehicle. It also comes with a holster to hold the charging head when not in use. Note it is not programable, but I don't need that. It is a very good price versus the alternatives I see, and works great. I highly recommend it.

Seems to be Compatibility Issues With Chevy Volt and GFCI Outlets
Haven't had the EVSE very long but have used it a few times. In general it feels like a pretty solid little unit. I opted for the plug-in model so that I could take it with me when I wanted to and it is definitely portable. I think it's actually smaller than the 120V EVSE that came with my EV. It charges the car roughly 2.5x faster than the stock 120v EVSE which is great. The 3 year warranty was definitely a determining factor. I feel for what it is, frankly for what all EVSEs are the price is high however comparing this to a lot of other Level 2 EVSEs out there it's definitely cheaper than some. I do wish it had another few feet (even just 3) on the charging cable not to mention another 1/2' to 1' on the plug side as it would make attaching it to the wall easier. While this could very well be plugged in and left for it's entire life some people want to use it as a portable unit and the screws to hang it on aren't always in the exact spot you'd want so a little more give/take with the plug cord would be welcomed. Give me those two things with some $ knocked off and I would have rated it 5 stars. That said as is I am very happy with my purchase.UPDATE: Unfortunately the unit had to be returned to Clipper Creek. The unit while it would work at times did at other times, and frequently, trip the GFCI outlet I plugged in to. To see if it was my car or others we tried my car (2015 Volt) and more often than not it would trip the breaker as soon as I plugged the connector in to the car. The same happened on a 2012 Volt as well. We then plugged it in to a Fiat 500e and no matter how many times we did it the breaker wouldn't trip. To see if it was just an overly sensitive breaker I had a colleague take it home and try on his 240v GFCI outlet and he had the same problems. It would work some times but most of the time it would trip as soon as it's plugged in to the car.In talking to Clipper Creek I guess the Volt has more "noise" than some of the other cars so this can be more of a problem with it than other cars. While I'm out the shipping and return shipping cost they did stand behind their product and took it back. It's a great little unit and feels well built so I'm not going to ding it for what seems to be an issue more with my car and the requirement of GFCI outlets in my area than with the product itself. In the future if I had the need I am pretty sure I'd by another Clipper Creek, just not for my Volt :)

Perfect for Chevy Volt
Perfect charger for Chevy Volt. The Volt accepts a maximum of 3.3kw. This charger produces 3.8kw. Any charger larger is a waste for the Volt. I have it plugged into a 50 amp circuit with no issues. Can't go wrong with ClipperCreek. I did my homework and it was easy. They are the best! No love on Prime shipping but on the plus side it arrived a full day early. Highly recommended for Volt owners!

Simple set up for use with an Audi A3 E-Tron
I recently bought an Audi A3 e-tron. Audi did not provide a charging cord that would work with the outlet that had been installed for use with a Tesla(a 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet). After researching the options, and looking at an Audi owner's forum, I identified the ClipperCreek 240V EV Charging Station with 14-50 plug as a highly rated option. The product arrived ahead of schedule - I was able to plug one end of the cord into my outlet, and the other end into my car. A couple hours later, I was fully charged and ready to run "electric only". Also of note - the charging unit is part of the cord. This is a much simpler configuration than the charging solution provided by Audi.

If you don't already have a 14-50 outlet installation is not difficult if you are comfortable with basic electrical wiring
Seems to be a very well made device. If you don't already have a 14-50 outlet installation is not difficult if you are comfortable with basic electrical wiring. The only issue I've has is that several times the plug hasn't seemed to connect well with the car. I'm not sure if there's a problem or if I just wasn't inserting it fully. I'm updating my review and changing it to 5 stars. I found that the connection problem was not due to the charger but a misalignment on the car between the socket and a collar around it. Corrected that and the charger has performed flawlessly.

Great product.
Great product...had it installed professionally for $200 labor and material. Charges my CMax Energi in a little over 2 hours. I use the MyFordmobile app with it set on value charge. I plug in the charger and it waits to charge until off peak hours to start. The app shows the time of charge a little over 2 hours for a complete charge when finished. The Ford mobile app talks to the charger as to when to start. Great app, and charger.

Used for 2017 Volt
Works great for a 2017 Volt. It is very sturdy. I had a 14-50 outlet installed in the garage in case in case I move up to a Tesla in the future. This unit plugs into that outlet and charges my Volt in less than 5 hours.

Highly recommended for good reason.
Purchased this particular model due to the praise it gets on various EV forums. Thus far I've only used it a couple times, but it definitely cuts down on charge times, no complaints here. Install was easy and the charger "holster" is a nice feature for when it's not connected to the car. Price is more than fair, probably one of the better (if not best) values when it comes to EVSE's.
