Great Product That Has Gotten Worse
I've used tiles for a few years now. I consider them to be a vital product, because I can be somewhat forgetful, and lose track of small (or even not so small) objects. So the ability to find your keys, or wallet, or purse or whatever, is a tremendous help. The way it works is pretty cool, you put a tile on your object that you are worried about losing, and then you load the tile app on your phone. Your phone periodically monitors your tile objects and keeps track of them. Then when you tell the app to locate your object, it will try to connect to it via bluetooth. If it is able to connect, it does, and it plays a sound, helping you locate it. If it can't connect, it shows you where (on a map) it was last able to connect to it, so for example if you left it at work, and you are now at home, you'll know that you left it at work. Pretty neat! That said, this product has definitely gotten worse this year. Now when you try to locate an object that you've had in your possession, say earlier in the day, and it's not nearby and you try to locate it, it'll tell you about where it was a month ago or some such. It's essentially worthless now for what was a really useful use case. It's now still very useful for locating things that are nearby, but if it's not nearby, it's no longer helpful imo.

unable to set up, even with customer support help
Ordered to use with his and hers keys and iphone. Tried valiantly to set up with instructions on app, then chatted with customer support for an hour. No relief. They are either defective or the setup is beyond my capacity.(I am a graduate engineer, somewhat computer savvy and usually able to make stuff like this work)Unsatisfactory product.

Brings a new calm to my world
Most things that are lost, aren't really lost in my experience, they just aren't where expected or are hiding in plain sight.I spent 6 hours one Saturday looking for my keys. They weren't in the house, they weren't in the pub from the night before, they weren't in the pub car park, 8 miles there and back to check. They weren't in my wife's car who picked me up the night before (in the taxi sense rather than a Vegas style wedding), or in my dad's car from the journey to the pub. They were in fact on the floor, under the dressing table in the bedroom. Tile purchased that evening. Now every time I loose my keys, wallet or phone a quick check on the tile app confirms where they are, anxiety of loss instantly evaporates.A bonus feature is that if like me your phone is always on silent, ringing it to find it is pointless. A quick press of your tile makes your phone ring out loud. Great.Phone battery doesn't appear adversely changed.

Pleasantly surprised
I'd thought about purchasing these for a long time, but always felt they would be a bit rubbish - as they are only bluetooth. However - I'm pleased to say I'm actually really impressed. I like that it isn't just a sound, but you can track how 'close' you are to the tile using the app. They aren't GPS, so unless your phone is within range of them, you'll be out of luck (but you can as the community to 'find' the tile - this is a free feature, doesn't require subscription). The range - well, it's difficult. Bluetooth doesn't work great through walls etc., however if you're just trying to find something in your home, a quick walk round with your phone soon sorts out that issue. There are extra features if you subscribe, however I don't think that any of them warrant the price of it; the 'free' features work well and perform the functions most will require.I don't like that the 'slim' is a non-replaceable battery, as this makes it a brick once the battery is dead; not good on cost grounds, or indeed green credentials - however a guaranteed 3 year life is pretty good for the device. The slim does fit into purses (even small ones) really well.
