Very Hard to Beat
I've purchased 6 of these and have mounted them on about half of the AR pattern rifles that I own. I have a combination of Aimpoint and Eotech products on my remaining rifles. After nearly 40 years of police and military service, I'm pretty discriminating about what I put on my firearms, and the iTac Defense Mini Red Dot is as reliable as my Aimpoint and Eotech sights. I've never had one break or malfunction. They just work, and work..... The external controls are ergonomic and positive in function. The integral mount is adequate, and when used with a half-height riser, it co-witnesses well with my BUS sights quite well. Some may prefer lower risers, and that may be a matter of personal preference. This product used to be difficult to find retailing for under $200, and they were worth that price. The current lower price is a very pleasant surprise and I'm buying more of them as the need arises. .

Not Perfect But Very Tough.
I purchased this sight for two reasons, those being the brightness control knob is on the LEFT side of the sight, where I can make instantaneous adjustments without having to remove my right hand from the weapons grip and trigger area, and the larger 4 moa dot which is more friendly to my eyes than 2 moa dots. While my Bushnell TRS-25 sights have proven their worth and have stood the test of time, I never liked the position of their control knobs. My intent was to mount this ITAC on a short, light, and very handy Model 94 Trapper in 44 Magnum that I keep around as my trailer/camp gun here in AK.The sight arrived nicely packaged in a box, with all necessary hardware and even a ARD (kill flash). It is nearly identical to a SigTac sight that I own, the only real differences being the SigTac has three mounting cross bolts vs. one, and slightly different windage/elevation adjustment screws. It seems to be a quality, well made and nicely finished sight. I'm even okay with the large, white emblem on the sight's side. The "dot", however, is more of a cluster of three small overlapping dots, which form a short vertical line instead. Due to this deformity I actually started the return process but then changed my mind, electing to just see what would happen on a Marlin 444P that I own. At 50 yards it actually adjusted POI and zeroed well, keeping rounds under 2" despite the line (lol), and survived 20 rounds on a rifle that packs quite a wallop.Impressed with it's toughness I then mounted it on an 870 Tactical shotgun just for kicks and giggles, and zeroed it with 3" slugs at 25 yards. Once again it zeroed well, and handled 25 slug and buck loads better than I did! While not perfect, it has proven itself to be a very tough sight that has earned itself a spot in my collection.

3 years so far so good!
although its not an aimpoint for $200 its pretty damn good. Usually with optics you get what you pay for however this red dot is priced right and has held up without issue. Its built like a tank and can take some punishment. I have used it on my AR it also spent some time on my mossy 590 and currently its doing duty on my wasr 10. The reason im only giving it 4 stars is due to the windage and elevation. I dont care for the slotted Knob adjustments not just on this optic any optic. Bottom line its a good optic for not that much coin.

Itac Defense Mini Red Dot Sport
This is a nifty little sight. And the key word here is little, I don't think they come any smaller.... so if rail space is a concern this is the scope to look at.Sighting in was quick & easy & the scope mated perfectly with my Ruger 22/45 in factors of both form & function. The scopes optics are coated and provide a crisp clear sight picture, and it comes with the Killflash anti reflection screw on filter which is really nice.It has enough brightness settings to cover every situation...and then some....you could probably aim it at the sun & STILL see the red dot :)So far I have no complaints, this is a good looking, sturdy performer... and is perfect not only for my pistol, but has the potential to excel in a wide variety of weapons platforms & applications.

the TRS-25 is the best red-dot for the price
These are ok little red dots, but the dot itself isn't very crisp. For the money, the Bushnell TRS-25 is much clearer and crisp and $80+ less than the Itac. Neither are an Aimpoint, but since I have all three, the TRS-25 is the best red-dot for the price. Now if you want something that is super tough and combat proof, get the Aimpoint Micro.

iTac Defense Mini Red Dot
I bought mine two years ago and have mounted it on my Bushmaster M4. I bought it on sale from Botachtactical for less than $100. I have researched similar ones like Sig, Bushnell, Barska, and of course Aimpoint. I like Aimpoints but pricey for me. Bushnell and the others seem to be all made by the same factory. Even the iTac and Sigs are so alike so the price of $79 shipped cannot be refused. After mounting it on my M4, I noticed the ON/OFF knob which turns the brightness of the dot is pretty hard to turn. The battery door which sits on top of the on/off switch manages to open when I turn the red dot on. On the upside, the red dot works very well. It's very bright and the lens is quite clear. I've seen Eotechs with lenses that is a little blurry. I also want to add a mount for 1/3 co-witness that looks like Aimpoint's which is hard to find. UTG now makes one but not as pretty. I gave this 4 stars for the looks, quality minus the switch. I recommend it if you are looking for a quality red dot sight. Just search for a better price or wait for it to go on sale here at Amazon.

Finally a cheaper red dot that can handle being used!
After a few hundred rounds through the 'ol kalashnikov, I can tell you this is a decent reflex sight. I was able to easily keep all my shots in a torso-sized area at 50 meters- not inherently impressive, but it illustrates how well this thing keeps its zero, unlike a cheaper barska sight that I had bought prior to acquiring this one. Not once did I have to tighten it or worry about the dot moving about due to recoil.Trust me, it is cheaper in the long run to drop ~$200 on a good reflex sight the first time around than to waste ~$60 on a Barska 1X20mm Red Dot Compact Rifle Scope and have it break on you.

LOVE IT
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this red dot sight. I have an EoTech holographic sight on another rifle and actually prefer this sight so far and at a much cheaper price than an Eotech, wish I'd tried this one first.
