The magnet is strong and seems good quality, however I only received the magnet and none of the accessories which where supposed to come with it. Haven't got an option to get missing parts sent out only a refund. Have to wait till they receive item back for refund and reorder so will take another week.

These are very powerful magnets. Lost a high dollar fishing lure in roughly 8' of water at my pond. Tied a rope to the magnet and drug the bottom with the magnet. I could feel the lure hit the magnet when it connected. Would highly recommend if you're in the market for a high-powered magnet!

This magnet is freaking awesome. I thought I'd test it out on some metal stairs, I should have only put it half on. Seriously could not get it to budge when on, had to get a piece of 4x2 timber to lever it off. Can not wait to give it a go in some rivers and lakes.

This is a very nice strong magnet. You need muscles if you get it stuck on anything metal. Very good for magnet fishing. lots of fun

I had a much smaller magnet before, that I had used for a couple of years to "magnet fish" around the docks at a marina where I had a boat. I recovered many items with my old/smaller magnet (tools, keys, gas caps, etc). And my old magnet could even pick up heavy items, if you were careful and worked at it.But *this* king kong magnet is a monster by comparison! It is huge (over 5" in diameter) and extremely strong. The square inches of surface area is so much bigger, that I will be able to cover the same area in 1/2 or 1/3 the time of my previous magnet.One tip - this magnet is probably best for searching along the side of a dock/etc (lowering it straight down, and then 'hopping' it along the bottom), rather than throwing it out, because it's a whopping 6 pounds! I can throw it 10 or 15 feet, but wouldn't want to try to throw it long distances. And it's so large/heavy that it sounds like a person falling in the water, and the sound gathers too much attention.

Magnet fishing. Works well but in my stupidity I attempted to use it in a kayak and flipped it over trying to lift something heavy out of the water. Was fun though.
