Very Disappointed
I became very, very disappointed with this book after he left the US for abroad. I really enjoyed hearing about his growing up in the Bay Area as it was the same area I grew up in. But apparantly he didn't like it at all, because he couldn't wait to see Europe. Poo.While I thought the book would be about his growing into his being gay, the book really hardly touched on it at all. We never really find out when he came out, when he had his first sexual experience or any of those things I thought the book would have. Most of what we find out about are his jobs, where he lived, who he lived with, who were his friends partners, where they lived, on and on. I didn't really care to hear about his friends and their relationships. I wanted to read about his coming of age and his romantic involvements. It seemed that was the part he did NOT want to share. He tells us all about what they eat, and how places are furnished and what clothes they wear---but not much about his intimate relationships. I couldn't wait to finish.Apparantly this is not a popular book at all since there are no other reviews. I see why.

What's not to like?
I am the book's author, after all! Seriously though, I have taken to heart the constructive criticism of readers and edited the present version (paperback and e-book versions) to include more tales of personal experiences and feelings. I hope this provides future readers with a better take on the nature of the adventurer looking for a true homeland across the globe.
