I, like so many people, pay a lot of attention to the reviews of others here and, after having read a number of very negative reviews of this tower shelf lamp, nearly didn’t order it. However, after comparing it with several other options, I decided to take a chance on it.Glad I did. Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what so many others have found to complain about with this unit.Let’s start with what should be pretty obvious (to nearly anyone): the material of this lamp is not natural wood. How, at this price point, would you be expecting it to be?? Seriously.Ok. So the material is not natural wood. But, that’s perfectly fine. In this instance, the dense, painted, fiberboard that this appears to be made from has been done very well. The individual pieces felt solid, with a nice weight to each, and had a nice finish on them.The unit arrived in a small box. When unpacking it, I found all of the materials were individually wrapped and well protected. Everything needed was there (you will need a Philip’s screwdriver), and it took only maybe 20 minutes to put together. And this was me taking my time. You’ll want to take your time with this, too. The materials are fine, but if you rush, or attempt to over-tighten certain parts, I could see how you could cause damage. This shouldn’t be considered a knock against this product. Over tightening fasteners on any piece of furniture is a great way to damage it. Be smarter than the fastener.One I had the shelf together, it felt very stable, doesn’t wiggle at all, and the light provided was just what I was looking for in this darker corner.The light pullchain pulls smoothly and also felt good. Overall, this is a very nice, inexpensive, shelf light.You could honestly do far far worse, or spend a lot more for a unit that might not be substantially better.Don’t be afraid of the bad reviews. Know what you’re ordering and set your expectations accordingly.Place some care in assembling, and I think you’ll be just as pleased as I am thus far.

The quality of the materials are not reflected in the price. Made of very cheap composite board & covered in paper??? shelves There was a large wing nut (visible to secure the lamp in position. The legs were very poor quality timber. Worth about half the price.

It looks quality, is a nice deep black, easy to assemble, right amount of brightness, doesn not have a top portion it's open, can be slightly slanted if you have soft carpet otherwise stands upright just fine

Arrivred earlirr than scheduled. Easy to assemble and is sturdy enough for me to put items, like figurines, on it. Highly recommend this product.
