A Rocking Ring is a Dangerous Accudrnt Waiting to Happen!
Our stove has 5 claw burners. We're going to be replacing 2 burners with 4 claw burners. This should have beem perfect for all 6 burners. It isn't. It fits on 4 of the 5 claws. The 5 th claw slot on the ring is in the right place, BUT the ring only seats on 4. I tried it on all 6 burners thinking maybe the some of the burners might not be level. So, I got out my trusty level and sure enough the burners were all level. Then I checked the ring, and it also was level. So why didn't it fit flat on the 5 claws? Because the slots were not all the same depth. Four were fine, the 5th was not the same depth. I tried it in various positions and the irregular slot fit none of the claws securely. Hence, it rocks in the opposite direction of the irregular slot regardsless of which claw it was supposed to engage. It could easily cause a hot pot or wok to slide off of the burner. Disappointed because I will have to return it. It would be too dangerous to use for wok or any other type of cooking. Will have to find one that fits five claw burners. Can't say whether it would work with a 4 claw burner.

A good wok ring for a portable gas stove
This cast iron wok ring has alignment features on both sides with more than one option on each side. This can make it rather versatile. Correctly placing this wok ring on a grate can involve rotating the ring into alignment. While I had hoped to use this wok ring with my kitchen stove, I am unable to use it with the current grates as they have too many bars. However, this is a rather good wok ring for use with a portable stove. In Japan and some other countries, homes frequently have portable stoves which sit on kitchen counters and are connected to gas mains of various type. Portable stoves which use gas cylinders are often used tabletop for cooking things like nabe (hotpot) such as shabushabu and noodle dishes. While I will try to find a replacement grate for my kitchen stove which will accommodate this wok ring, I will definitely be using it for outdoor wok cookery. Care for this wok ring the same way that you care for cast iron cookware. Just heat it up to burn off anything adhering to the surface. Use vinegar to revert red rust to stable black rust, or use coarse salt to scour red rust off the surface. You may wish to "season" your wok ring the same way that you season a cast iron pot or pan, but this is not really necessary. I have been using cast iron gotoku (a kind of trivet) for decades.

Perfect for pots with round base.
Bought it for using my old iron kadhai/wok that has round base and this works perfectly by making them stable. Also the quality seems really nice and is heavy.

They don't fit my stove
I have what I think is a standard GE stove and the notches in this do not fit the 4 claws on my stove's burner. It seems like it would be perfect for my wok had it fit but unfortunately, I can't use this since it would just be an accident waiting to happen.
