Very happy, excellent quality and the best price anywhere I could find was here on Amazon. Read the product description fully and understand that the top is meant to be lose, and not create a seal. To many people wrote bad reviews because of this just because they didn't read before they made their purchase. I bought this for a gift for my mother. Her machine is 30+ years old, and it still fit with NO problems at all. She is extremely pleased with it.

Just received this. Buying a clear bowl for your mixer has lots of advantages. One is that you can see how well the ingredients are mixed from the outside as well as on the inside. This bowl, although the same 5 Qt capacity, is taller than the regular stainless bowl. As a result, more thorough mixing is enjoyed. It fits easily and securely in place. I personally bought this as a second bowl for when I bake cookies. I have one bowl for one batch, then switch to a second bowl for another type of cookie. The advantage is I can continue to make cookie dough by simply rinsing the mixer blade off, without having to wash and dry the first bowl. That way, I can bake two batches of cookies and only do one clean up. The lid is handy, but I don't know whether I will use it or not.

I haven't really used this a whole lot since I purchased it... Actually, I put it on my stand mixer, with my smaller bowl and attachments inside. I twice took it out to use it as a mixing bowl, and to store soup in the fridge when I made a huge pot. But when I removed it from my mixer, the gray plastic "screwy" thing on the bottom, for locking it into your mixer stayed locked in to the mixer, not attached to the glass bowl, and took some creative maneuvering to dislodge it from the mixer base. Also, the lid is not a tight fit, which it says so right on the lid, but I thought it would be a tight fit when I bought it. I guess I just expected a bit better when paying $45 for a bowl.***---UPATE---***: I forgot what I paid for this bowl! Holy moly! But since I'd forgotten, I have to admit, I use it at least as much as the bowl that came with the mixer. Sometimes, you just want the extra capacity, a handle and spout. I still feel now how I felt then about the lid though, kinda useless if it's not trustworthy, can't actually think of where my lid is at this moment, that's how much I use it. The problem of the gray part staying screwed to the mixer and not the bowl has happened to me twice since I got it.

Bought this as a gift because my wife has one and loves it.Having a cover is very handy for whipped cream etc. that you can put in the fridge and serve later.The first one I received had a couple small cracks at the rim.Looked like a manufacturing defect.Emailed Amazon and they gave me a return mailing sheet so returning the defective bowl was no charge and very easy.Just repacked it and dropped it off at a postal depot.I received a replacement bowl a couple days after I had reported the problem and before I returned the defective one.Great service from Amazon.

Very well built, measurements on side are handy and this is somewhat better than the plain stainless bowl that comes shipped with the mixer, but $90 CDN for a mixing bowl is a bit excessive. Wouldn't have bought it at that price except this was a gift for someone who is hard to buy for and had asked for this item. My only quibble is with the price.
