Good for recipes, can eat plain too
These were good, I used them in rice crispy treats. Added them to the hot mix right at the end so they melted slightly but not completely. Snuck a few uncooked and they were good like that too.

Yummy
First these are yummy by the hand full. I'm sure they would be great to use in baking. I however used them with a trail mix that was just a bit too bland for me. This gave it a nice little boost to have some flavor.

Kraft Caramel Bits -- A Comparison with Kraft Caramel Squares
For baking and melting, this product is an improvement over the old caramel squares. One quarter inch round in size, these caramel bits eliminate the need for peeling the cellophane wrapped caramels so time is saved, they melt faster and in baking there is no need to cut them up.I did some comparisons between the original Kraft caramel squares and these bits, beginning with consistency. Both this bag of caramel bits and the squares contain the same eleven ounce quantity which makes it easier when converting old recipes to this new product. There are approximately 35 caramel squares in an 11 ounce bag and about a cup and a half plus two tablespoons in the bag of bits (26 tablespoons). The original squares contain corn syrup, sugar, skim milk, palm oil, whey (from milk), salt, artificial and natural flavor, soy lecithin. The caramel bits contain sugar, corn syrup, liquid sugar, skim milk, palm oil, butter (cream and salt), salt, mono and dyglicerides (emulsifiers), soy lecithin. For context, the ingredients in a bag of Toll House chocolate chips are sugar, chocolate, cocoa butter, milk fat, soy lecithin, natural flavors.I compared the nutritional breakdown on the back of the bags – converting the quantities to an entire bag full since they both weigh eleven ounces and because the serving for one used number of squares and the other uses tablespoons. The entire bag of squares has 1120 calories, 24.5 grams of fat (14 grams saturated, no trans), 770 mg sodium and 182 grams of sugar. The bag of bits has 1300 calories, 39 grams of fat (26 saturated, no trans), 910 mg sodium and 208 grams of sugar. For comparison sake eleven ounces of chocolate Toll House chips has 1192 calories, 88 grams of fat (55 saturated no trans), sodium 0, 176 grams of sugar. To compare the taste I tried a few of the bits and then consumed a cello wrapped caramel. The flavor is close but not quite identical and the texture is slightly different. The square caramels have a slightly better taste and definitely have the expected soft chewy stuck-in-your teeth texture. The caramel bits have a texture, that while chewy, is not stuck-in-your-teeth sticky, which I think I prefer. I melted a tablespoon in the microwave with a few drops of water and in 25 seconds they were melted. An entire bag of bits should take 2 minutes to melt -- a bag of squares between 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. So, although neither candy product is healthy, the squares have better numbers. They have less calories, fat, sodium and sugar and taste slightly better. But, the bits have a strong convenience factor working for them. The taste is close enough to the original and because the bits are less sticky they are easier to eat. Plus, they are ready-to-use – and I really dislike unwrapping the squares so I will keep buying the bits.

Melted well & but too waxy. Missing Kraft caramel flavor!
Product didn’t stick together in the bag at all. Melted well, but lacks that good Kraft Caramel flavor I expected. Good to use as a non sticky glaze, maybe on cookies, etc. Tends to harden as it cools, not sticky as expected caramel would be. I’ll find the right use for it. Not for main caramel flavor!

versatile and delicious!
These are awesome for baking, sprinkling on brownies, making blooming apples, mixing in with my apple or pecan pies for an added goonies. Use them for so many things now, because I don't have to stand there and tediously remove the wrappings from the squares. Wish my grocery carried them, but at least I can get them delivered to my door!

Yummy for my tummy
These are very delicious! I know caramels are made with butter but I wonder why their so, so oily to the touch? That’s kind of gross. I’m won’t be buying them again. They do have a great flavor though.

Caramel bits
Caramel bits are so much easier to use in baking then having to unwrap, then cut up, all those squares! These caramel bits taste great in chocolate chip walnut cookies, and also are very good in brownies! They are easier on the teeth, melt quickly, and are perfect for baking. My last bag went quick, I am ordering more for my holiday baking. :)
