It will be as good as volume II which I already had from years back bought in Chennai airport. Useful books for youngsters needing to know about modern day India and how she has got to where she has as a vast developing country with an ancient wonderful history.

Well, can you believe I have re-purchased both the volumes of this book even though I have the first edition of both the volumes already ? That's how much I liked the book. Although the book is for children and written for them, but the short nuggets of 'History' information is a treasure trove for us 'adults' too and as such each volume is worth the price.Roshen has touched upon all the aspects of Indian History and she definitely had done her research well. I have gone through the Indian history written by AL Basham but Roshen's work is so much simplified and attention seeking that I couldn't put it down until I read it once unlike other History books, simplified or not.Highly recommended book, for any type of reader be it casual readers like me, Competitive Exam takers or School going Kids.
