I gave this product a 4, but would actually say about a 3.5. This is an ok item....likely the best you'll receive for the price. They do take CR batteries, which I was aware of. The remote is basically worthless in comparison with other similarly produced candles. Like others mention, you literally MUST be within 12-24 inches away from the candles for it to work. It's really only useable to set the timer and to cut off and on. Other better made candles allow you to dim (thus saving battery life) but if you attempt to dim these, the flame ceases to flicker and remains stationary. The actual flame is far dimmer than other brands. It has a yellowish hue in brighter lighting, but in night ambient lighting, these appear more orange in hue. This makes them more borderline like a Halloween decoration. I put them in lanterns mounted on a wall, and they do look acceptable for that purpose. If I didn't have to stand on a bar stool to cut them off via the remote, I'd be a little more pleased, I think. While I am not displeased with the purchase because you get six candles (all worked straight out of the box ) I'll not reorder this brand, and opt for the pricier ones next time. Overall, if you're ok with the "cons" listed in the reviews, these are an acceptable choice for real "flame like" candles...definitely better than the older, non moving parts models.

If you're looking for flameless candles that are a fraction of a cost from the top flameless candle brand Luminera, I would look elsewhere. Compared to Luminara where they're candles are made of real wax that allows it to look like a real candle is a real difference between these candles. These candles as stated in the description are made out of plastic and it looks like it. However, if you're looking for flameless candles to look good from far away, I would give these a try. These candles are a great deal for the price, especially since it comes with a remote control. It is a good product and does what it is supposed too.

These are cute candles but they do not have standard AA or AAA batteries. I should have looked more carefully at description (as I just "assumed" because I have many of these types of candles & love them). However, this strange flat (coin style battery) causes timers to not function very well (& I believe that it's due to fact that these type of batteries can not hold a charge). These come w/ a remote control timer & also some that were not REAL WAX because I like to keep them outside by pool on timers (& real wax melts out in the heat). But these don't suit purpose if battery is going to be dead w/ in 1-2 evenings of use.Perfect except battery circumstance makes them almost inoperable on a day to day basis. If you're going to use for only a 1/2 hour here or there might be ok. But won't stand up to regular remote controlled timer uses.

Definitely not comparable to the realism of a Luminara brand candle, but much cheaper.Pros:- Flame color is realistic- Ability to dim the flame- PriceCons:- When the flame movement is turned on, the LED also flickers; one has to choose between *no* movement and *too much* movement.- Candle body is very unrealistic; best suited inside something frosted

These are great for the money. In order for the remote to work you have to be right up on the candle. Would order again.

These were a HUGE disappointment. Three of six did not even turn on. I am not sure if batteries were already dead or they were broken; not impressed with the 'working' others to test them. Of the working three, I was underwhelmed. First, color is a fake orange and only lights up top quarter inch of candle. Secondly, only one of the wicks moved for a short time then stopped all together. This was one of the original major selling features for me but they did not work. Third, remote only works very close to candles and I could not tell a difference between candle and light mode. I never tested timer function because I will not keep ling enough to test. Overall, I would not recommend them; much better quality on the market.

These candles are beautiful in my metal wall sculpture! Not only that, they are so convenient with both the timer and remote. Before I got these my hallway wall was dark. Now it has a soft glow of candles dancing against the wall every night when I come home. I can also turn them on for special occasions with a click of the remote! They look realistic and the 3.8 8nch height is perfect!

great product, I just wish I would have ck the battery. I thought they were AAA but they are the more expensive disc. Still a great product and works great.
