Horák was delivered early and easy to install.

My 17 year old version of the exact same valve was in bad shape and leaking a bit but still worked. I bought this one just to add a few valves to make it more functional and not leak. I am not a plumber but was able to do all the work. I had to understand the different materials I was working with (PVC, CPVC, & brass) and how to interface them. But after some study and planing it was easy to do. It cost me a smidge under $200 to do the whole job. Two plumbers I had gotten quotes from wanted $450 and another wanted close to $600! So I am happy that I was able to do it myself, saved some money, it works how I wanted it to, and it does not leak. Hopefully I will get another 17 years of use out of this installation.

Good item but had a defect. The cast metal was pitted and could leak early. Would have asked for a replacement but the plumber had to install what I had.Neutral to unhappy with the product.

Easy to install.

The backflow is a really nice, solid unit, but the handles are clearly made of cheap steel and will rust very quickly.

I bought this to replace my old unit that finally gave out. My neighbor is a plumber and installed for me.

I bought this to replace my Buckner backflow preventer, which stopped working unless I put silicon grease on the rubber ring inside each year. It lasted 25-30 years, but is no longer made. The Febco unit replaced it without modifying the existing plumbing. The only warning I would give is that the two small horizontal tubes coming off the water inlet side have a strange, about 3/8" male thread that I could not identify. (The Amazon pic doesn't match the unit I received. Home Depot has a pic for this unit that matches mine). Those small horizontal tubes are what I have used for annual blowout in autumn. Luckily I was able to unscrew the small horizontal tubes and screw in the tubes from my old Buckner unit so I can attach my compressor for autumn blowout like always.

This was a lot cheaper on amazon than from the local irrigation supply store so I concerned it was a knock-off or something was wrong. But it’s the real deal. A diaphragm rattles on it when you unbox it, so don’t worry if you hear it that. That’ll firm up when mounted and under pressure.It’s very heavy so make sure you mount it with Schedule 80 pipe/fittings. Basic Sch40 may break from the weight. When you first turn the water back on, water will shoot out from under the bell housing. You may have a flash of worry that it’s broken, but the flush will stop when it’s fully pressurized. Make sure you follow your local mounting height code so as to keep your loved ones safe.Amazing value and heavy duty/legit product. Highly recommended.
