Beautiful and functional
The wood is beautiful, it has some reassuring weight to it and the edge is thin so great for flipping. Even came with a scotch-bright. Apparently they also plant trees to keep it sustainable.

OK - too expensive
Well this is an OK utensil. Sorry - but I simply cannot get as excited about it as so many of the other reviewers here. In all honestly I think it is quite over priced. Paying a premium for "Made in USA" I guess. Would I buy again? Not likely.

Earlywood amazing customer service
Our first spatula broke a corner off on first use, which was disappointing as the product is beautiful. Amazon.au didn’t respond to any of our emails but Annie at Earlywood was super responsive and sent us a replacement immediately, even though they hadn’t fulfilled our order directly. Really appreciate the amazing customer service and look forward to using this lovely spatula.

Aesthetics and quality are top notch
A great, really diverse tool; well crafted, highly aesthetic, and just looks really good when coupled with Earlywood's other spatulas and spreader. Apart from knives, they are by far my most used utensils.

This is it people !!!
I LOVE this utensil. I had a less expensive bamboo one that I used for years that was lost in my move so I figured it was time to step up to the real deal. Great weight, fits in the hand, & is comfortable to use for long cooking sessions. I will definitely be buying a second set.My only “complaint” is the color. I ordered the Mexican ebony assuming by the pics it was a rich black color & it’s not. It’s more a blackish brown red. Deal killer? Absolutely not. Cause for reduced stars? Nope But had I known I’d have bought the maple.

Warp and crack first use. UPDATED.
Was very excited to receive the scraper and it looked fantastic out of the wrapping but, the first time I used it, the scraper developed a warp at the front blade portion and a crack. Cannot fault Earlywood for a manufacturing defect (it looked great and very well finished) as wood has a mind of its own and I just got unlucky with some weird grain structure that gave up when used. Oh well, back to silicone and steel utensils.Update: The owners of Earlywood reached out, wanted to make things right and provided a replacement even though I did not think it necessary. Super customer service and happy to report, tested the new spatula and it's perfect. Updated to 5 stars for great service and product!
