Gulp Alive Cricket Fishing Bait

These are great to keep in your tackle box for a sort of "spur of the moment" fishing trip. Under most conditions they are not as good as the real thing but they still work well. Beats not being able to get to the bait shop and also to your favorite fishing hole after work and before dark!When the bluegill are spawning these are better than real crickets. You can real in your fish and re-use your cricket.

Bought these for the kids when fishing for bream. Catfish seem to like them too. They don't work as good as the real thing (not expected to), but do last through several bites/catches. They don't seem to all come out clean from the molds. About 50-60% of them have webbing between the body/legs and do not look like the clean image of a cricket pictured. Some are webbed too much to use unless you take time to pull what webbing you can out. That's why I can't give a 5th star.

I figured I'd take a chance with these cause there are times I just want to go after panfish when the bite is tough and I don't want to go out and buy live bait.These definitely look like the real thing, have a smell that would likely attract fish, but unfortunately these just don't catch fish like the real thing. Even in a school of bluegill, they would go after this, but immediately spit it out once they realize it's not the real thing. I was hoping that is where the scent would help them hold onto it, but just didn't work for me.I was hoping to catch a bunch of fish on these, but looks like I'll be making the trip more often to get worms.

Great for panfish. Produce catches like worms. I average about 5 fish caught per cricket. Have gone as many as 15 catches and that does include harassment hits. No big tub of worms. No rotten worm stink. No mud on your hands. High heat in car makes them mushy but overnight in the fridge and they are good again. Love em......

Excellent artificial bait to use as an alternative to live bait. Worked very well for Sunfish in Minnesotawhen used alone on a small hook, with a nip of Night Crawler or Waxy or a Bubble Worm. Usuallyresulted in catching larger fish, when the bite was slow. Have it available in the tackle bucket all summerlong.

Woks fantastic in early summer (when crickets are around). Works better in small bodies of water (farm ponds) than larger lakes.

This Bait was perfect for catfish, I caught two-three every hour and got me coming home with 23 catfish!!

Messy, smelly, and I didn't even get a single bite while using this. I switched over to the regular old powerbait grubs or a small spinner and I was grabbing panfish left and right. These crickets aren't work the hassle. Berkley is a great company, but I suggest sticking to the Powerbait line.
