This is a really cute idea. But the acrylic bees are heavy and will not stay on their bottom side. They want to flip over on their backs. No matter what I do, the bees are upside down with wings facing the ground, and wires exposed. Even attaching the wire to a border fence, bees flip over. If the individual bees had a clip of some kind, this would have worked. The solar panel works very well as long as it is in sunlight for a few hours. However, the cord connecting the string of bees to the solar panel is very short. I wanted to use it to light a path, but during the day the path in the shade. I could only use it in one area because of the sunlight issue and the short cord. If it had a longer cord this would have worked.

We purchased these over a year ago and put them on a very large birdhouse condo. They look as good today as the first day. They have remained outside the entire time which has included lots of snow. Money well spent and I highly recommend these.
