Great Album
I love this band and I love this album. I only order vinyl copies of my absolute most favorite albums (because they're so ridiculously expensive), so naturally I got this one. The whole album is on one record. Some of the songs did seem like they might not have been the best quality, though. Although this may just be my new record player, which I got in the same order as this album. If you like this album, definitely get it for your record collection.

Great Debut
Right now the music industry is totally overly saturated with female pop sings, from Perry to Cyrus, and I figured Halestorm would just be a pop rock rock band since otherwise Atlantic wouldn't have signed them. However, after listening to disc, I realized how wrong I was. Their debut album is chock full of very old school sounding hard rock/heavy metal tracks, and Lizzy sings her heart out. They remind me of a female version Skid Row in some ways. While I prefer their sophomore release over their debut, this is the album new fans should start with since it's inexpensive and will give them a good taste of what they're getting into.I highly recommend this disc to fans of Lita Ford, Joan Jett, and even Evanescence, while they don't flirt with gothic rock or nu metal like Evanescence, there are some similarities. However, if you go to any site that says the band In This Moment is highly similar to Halestorm, don't fall for that like I did. While In This Moment is a good band, In This Moment's music reminds me more of older Marilyn Manson music rather than the 80's hard rock/metal style that Halestorm lean on.The disc is also an enhanced disc but don't expect any goodies from the enhanced content, all it does is open a window with a link that apparently used to send one to a special section on their website but that special section is no longer active.

Awesome Debut!
Halestorm is coming to Seattle for a show in August, so I made it a point to complete my CD collection. My favorite tracks on the CD are "I Get Off", "Innocence", "Bet U Wish U Had Me Back", and "Better Sorry Than Safe". I love how Lzzy Hale is unafraid and unapologetic when it comes to her lyrics. That makes her even more beautiful in my eyes!

Here comes Lzzy!
Lzzy and the boys debut release just goes to show you why they will be around for a long time! I heard Halestorm on the RJD tribute cd,and thought they did a Great job on their cover of Straight through the heart, but was'nt sure I would like their original music. Anyway,I decided I'd take a chance and buy this to see if I would dig it,and I am so glad I did! Every song on this Masterpiece is Great! Lzzy's vocal abilities, and strong lyrics, reall get her point across, while the musicianship on here is fantastic! If you dont have this-GO GET IT NOW!!!! You wont be disappointed! Highly Recommended!!!

A good album from start to finish.
Wow. Great album. It's unfortunate that with the internet so prevalent nowadays, it takes me longer to find good music like this than it did in 1982 with MTV and rock radio.Rock radio is nearly dead in my local area of Boston with WBCN switching to sports talk. I just happened to stumble on this through a chain of lucky clicks. I played it for my daughter and she said"well I know what I'll be buying from iTunes when I get home". I think the key thing that makes each of these songs so good is that, unlike many of the "ok" rock bands of today, Halestormunderstands that you need to vary the pacing of the melody over the course of each song. Strong highs and soft lows make great rock. They've re-embraced the guitar solo as well, which you seldom see nowadays. Most rock produced since 1996 is just too flat from start to finish to be considered anything more than "ok" background noise with a competent but mostly vanilla lead singer. The thing that really sealed the deal for me was the live acoustic performance I looked up on Youtube. I generally want to know that if I happen to fall into concert tickets, I won't be disappointed. I highly suggest viewing those acoustic videos, Lzzy and the band are the real deal. They sound like a band playing their music, well, not a band "trying" to play their music, poorly, which is all too rare in this day in age. This is a solid four star album, I'd give it five, but I reserve five stars for albums that "transcend", true past and future classics with near infinite replay value, such as: (GnR - Appetite for Destruction, Heart - The Road Home, The Zeppelin boxed set, Ozzy's Randy Rhoads Tribute Album, etc.). Hopefully Halestorm will produce that type of album some day, they seem to have the potential tools in place.

Pretty good
Popish female led melodic metal. That is how to describe Halestorm. Lucky for me I like that. Yes, it may sound like it is pushed to be more mainstream than other bands but how can you fault them. A band with no sales is not going to be a band for that long. "I Get Off" is my favorite track. Makes me want to run around my house in the buff and open the blinds while my dog tries to contain his laughter. "Bet U Wish U Had Me Back" is my second favorite but, what is this a text message? Song title with U instead of "You" got old when Prince did it in the 80's. The song sounds like a hard rock country song. I expect to hear Taylor Swift singing it on her next album. Personally, I like songs that can be reworked and done in different genres. I think it says a lot about the song and the writing. If you like stuff like Nightwish, Within Temptation, After Forever you will probably like this. It is like those bands but not as serious.

My favorite Halestorm album
My favorite Halestorm album, Lzzy is always a killer vocalist, but these are the best I've ever heard the guitar work. That's what I feel is missing in a lot of the later tracks, I think Halestorm is best when heavy. I don't enjoy their soft stuff, I feel like Lzzy sounds best when she is showing her tough side, and this album has the guitars to back it. This album has some slower songs, but some of Halestorm's heaviest, making it my favorite album. Lzzy is one of my favorite female vocalists in Rock right now and this is my favorite album with her, such a sexy badass.

A Glorious Noise
I said that after hearing the latest studio album (The Strange Case Of..) that I would indeed backtrack and purchase the maiden album from Halestorm - so, I've done that and I have to say that 'HALESTORM' has had a similar impact as TSCO!For a maiden album, it's right up there uncannily sounding very Heart/Evanescence-like at times but with a heavier twist, and that's no bad thing at all! Lizzy certainly has a great range and feel for vocal dynamics!Certainly, for me, there is no duffer lurking among the 11 tracks presented here and from the opening "It's Not You" through to "Nothing To Do With Love", taking in the beautiful "Familiar Taste Of Poison" we get hit with belting rock and ballads of the grown up variety.I certainly am going to have to be present at the Alter Bridge/Shinedown/Halestorm gig later this year - I just hope that Halestorm are given sufficient time to put their message over to the fans of the bigger acts on the bill as they certainly are good enough to warrant that bigger audience and a headlining tour all of their own.

AWESOME !!
God I love this band, bought ' The Strange Case Of' and couldn't believe my ears, along with the Rival Sons they are beyond doubt the best band in the world today, the musicianship is superb and Lizzy Hale is an incredible talent, you want tough chick she will give it to you in abundance on tracks like, It's Not You, I Get Off, Dirty Work etc but at the same time can knock out ballads with ease Bet U Wish U Had Me Back and the excellent Familiar Taste Of Poison, what a band, what an album, can't wait to see them in Liverpool in August, Awesome !1

Good introduction to a great band
After hearing and liking a few Halestorm tracks on the radio I decided to buy a couple of albums ahead of seeing them on tour. Reading reviews, this album seemed to receive good comments and I was not disappointed. A couple of tracks are a bit on the poppy side but Lizzie's amazing vocal range more than makes amends. This is album is a good choice if you like what you hear played on the radio and are into listening to full albums rather than downloading individual tracks. My only minor niggle is that by the end of the album it is beginning to sound a bit samey - but in a good way.

My favourite album. Loads of tunes that have a tendency to stick in your head. Absolutely amaaaazing vocals from Lzzy. No swearing on this one either, so a good album to use to convert your young kids to metal....

Halestorm
3 - 4 minute long rock songs that go verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, chorus, end?But wait... these songs are dangerously catchy. All of them. The vocals are very strong, providing a wide range of pitch. The lyrics are pretty dirty - you wouldn't let your kids listen to this. This is party music for the rock fans.It seems James Hetfield adopted a daughter with Nikki Sixx. And she hung out with Hinder all day, every day.

Halestorm Rocks!
These guys are brilliant. The singer has an amazing voice, and if you check out the live videos, you find that it's not fake, she really does sing like that (I have been disappointed before by singers who sound great on mp3 and awful live). It's a short album, which is my only complaint, I enjoyed it so much I wanted more. A familiar taste of poison is my favourite song on the album, starts of slow and really ramps up.

Halestorm - goes down a storm!
Halestorm's debut album is one of the best debut's that i've heard in a very long time. The band's strength is LZZY's (not a spelling error) amazing voice, that has effortless power and range. The band are tight and sound like they enjoy playing off one another. The songwriting is very good, but some of the lyrics are a bit ropey- the only fault I can find..destined to be a classic!!

A good Debut - slower than expected
This was one of my Amazon recommendations so took a punt and bought it - was not disappointed. The surprise for me was how "slow" most of the tracks seemed, especially after the opener (It's not you) - however this doesn't detract from what is an excellent debut album.

Wow
love this stuff!Having grown up in the late 70s/early 80s, I listened to teh premier ladies of rock; Pat Benetar, Heart, Vixen et al. Over the last few years, I developed a taste for the Gothic rock sound of Evanescence, Within Temptation, WATF, Delain. This album was recommended as a result of previous purchases and when I listened to the samples I just had to get it.Once bitten by Lizzie (now there'a a nice thought), there's no going back.Absolute belters and on in my car all the time.

Halestorm (Debut Album)
Heard a few tracks from this band & seen live perfomances via You Tube . When I bought this album there wasn't a single track on it that I didn't like ! That is very unusual ............... It says a lot that i have played it so many times in the car & I still haven't got sick of the sound of it.
