I am not a connoiseur of country music and most of the bland crossover stuff leaves me cold. But occassionally a unique singer comes along with a song or two that really grabs me because of the authenticity and genuine emotion in the music.Donna Fargo is such a singer and a gifted composer who enriched the pop charts in the early seventies with her catchy songs The Happiest Girl In The Whole USA and Funny Face. Yes, these songs are about the domestic bliss of everyday people but somehow they're special and unique, able to soften even the most cynical of hearts with their exuberance and engaging melodies. In addition, Fargo's voice and/or accent is quite charming, with just a hint of a lisp, which makes her style even more appealing.Besides the aforementioned hits, I also love You Were Always There, Su;perman, US of A and Whatever I Say. The other tracks aren't quite in the same league but still very enjoyable. This is country music at its best; nothing beats a brilliant song performed with genuine feeling.

Its a CD from my past that my dad had the vinyl of. Only missing my favorite song - which I thought was there. But it has everything else I remember singing to when I was a kid. I was so glad to find it. I Guess I am living in my past (and enjoying it) - a time where music said something and was catchy enough to remember all the words and tune.

Great country music. You almost do not hear this type of music anymore.Today's country is not what it used to be. All the country classics we grew up with are no longer heard on the radio. In other words, it took a nose dive. Modern so-called country artists today cater to the young crowd. These include Taylor Swift, Leanne Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and others. Country music as we knew it including myself is no longer country. It's more likely pop music.

It was perfect, I wanted all the songs.

Now really, who doesn't love Donna Fargo? This cd has a great selection of her biggest hits. I bought it to share with a friend who was not familiar with Donna's music. Great value.

I am not a great reviewer. I just know what I like and I have loved Donna Fargo for many years and had some of her LP's and I was so glad to get a CD. This CD did not disappoint me.
