Worked as a replacement for the original
It worked as a replacement to the original. 4 stars because it didn’t come with instructions but eventually I figured out to pull back the metal clip a little bit and installed mine over the “ball” end on the fender and hood, and close the clip to secure the new hydraulic. Now my hood stays up with ease on my 2000 VW Jetta!

direct replacement for Mk4 VW
Got this to replace the hood support on my 2004 VW Jetta TDI. Took about 2 mins to install and the hood goes up and down good as new now. Super easy to install.
