This little vac makes aquarium maintenance so much easier!So, not only can you use this thing as a vacuum (think of it like an instant filter for larger debris), but you can also attach a hose and do a partial water change. No priming necessary!Now, I haven't tried a full water change. I'm not sure the capability is there to be honest.That's the only gripe I could come up with...It's powerful, it's quiet, it's got good length for larger tanks, clean-up is easy.Solid buy in my opinion!

Okay so since I've had my fish tanks I have struggled with the gravel cleaners. I have had a total of 5 They all sucked (well not literally) Anyways I just purchased this gravel vac!!! Let me tell you its absolutely amazing!!! You can use it as a water changer and a sand cleaner. It will recycle the water just picking up the nasty stuff! If anyone has struggled with water changes just buy this product! I cleaned my fish tank in just 10 minutes! This product is a life changer I promise you!

Unfortunately this vacuum is not up to cleaning dirty aquariums. It probably will help keep a clean tank clean, but it starts off with good suction for about one minute, picks up dirt and then becomes too clogged to pick up anymore. I then, have to run to the bathroom to clean the filter element, taking about five minutes for every one minute of cleaning the tank, or so. It is poorly designed. If instead of having a filter built in to the side of the device, it had a filtration bag hanging down off of it, in which the debris could collect but still freely pass the water being pumped, it would work fine. So, to clean the tank, I spend more time cleaning the filter than the aquarium.

The product did not contain the other piece that connects to the hose as it is advertise on the picture, the ability to drain water is the main reason I ordered the product. I am very upset because the product is pricey and I only paid the price because it advertised that the product cleans gravel and drains water, it doesn't even clean the gravel at all!! it doesn't even suck any of the stuff from the tank!!!! complete disappointment I want a refund waiting on reply from seller

Works great!! So easy to use once you figure it out. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there weren't directions other than picture steps on the outside of the box so it was confusing to figure out. But once you have it going it works and is way faster to drain than my hand pump one I had before this
