Heresie was the second album released by Belgium's legendary avant-garde rock band Univers Zero, co-founders of the highly influencial "Rock in Opposition" (R.I.O.) movement. Originally released in 1979, it has been considered a high water mark of new music composition, performance, and dark, sinister intensity for over 30 years and has never been out of print. Using a distinctive lineup of bassoon/oboe, violin/viola, harmonium/piano/guitar, bass and drums, the group mixed the complexity of rock's outermost experiementers with classical instrumentation and a deeply gothic and creepy vibe.
