It REALLY works!
I sharpebed all my knives as soon as the sharpener arrived. It is easy to use and works quickly. It is certainly worth the price. Just one word of warning... Be careful....It REALLY works well. My partner who is an experienced chef cut herself making breakfast because the knife was unexpectedly sharp.

I have sharpened a couple of dull knives so far and it works great. Easy to use and works well.

Not that great!
The ergonomic handle is the one positive feature I can give to this item. I tried sharpening a pair of long handled lopers with little success. So I tried a pair of hand pruners with the same result.As far as the heavier blades the carbide sharpeners just seemed inadequate to do the job. With the hand pruners, I could only reach about half of the blade, due to the large thumb protector. I didn't try sharpening any scissors. I wouldn't recommend this sharpener to others.

Not good for scissors at all
Even at $11.79 it's way overpriced; cheap lightweight plastic. It would NOT sharpen my scissors, no matter which direction or how many times I tried. My boyfriend said it sharpened knives a little. Really not worth your time nor money. Feeling generous I gave it 2 stars.

It works OK
It works fine but it was over priced.It sharpens knives OK but I could not get it to sharpen scissors.

Perfect tool
Looking at the other knife sharpeners, this one is smaller and much cheaper. It is great for the home kitchen use. Does a great job sharpening our knives. Certainly better than buying new ones!

Great for knifes, not that great for scissors
I bought this sharpen for sewing scissors, but it didn't really do what I expected. You have to open the scissors to slide it through the channel, and some of my scissors don't open far enough to do that.. In fact, the one pair I really wanted sharpened the most were the pair that I couldn't use with this product.So I gave it to my husband to see if it would sharpen his jack knifes and he loves it.. Says it sharpens better than anything he's used before.. He's thrilled with it.I ordered a fiskars scissor sharpener for me.

bad bad knife sharpner which i bought
thats the worst knife sharpner i hardly use it on one knife and poof it disappeared like the magic dragon plz never in my life was i so dissapointed i still have it u can ave it back never again will tell all my chefs frends thku pingle
