Outerbridge's Sherry Pepper Sauce 5oz Bottle

I first became aware of this sherry sauce on a trip to Bermuda where it is everywhere on the island. It has been in production for over 50 years. Its use is encouraged and it is prominently placed on restaurant tables the way ketchup is here. This condiment has a unique taste that brings out the flavor of some foods, particularly but not exclusively sea food. This is not a sauce that tastes great alone like catsup or barbecue sauce but rather is more like tabasco that by itself is a bit much but a dash or two elevates many dishes.It works well in chili, eggs, buffalo wing sauces, salad dressing or nachos. It is excellent in fish stew, crab and lobster bisque, rice and black-eyed peas combos, and many other dishes. It has a distinctive flavor and there is simply no substitute for it, and I have looked for years. We are now so accustomed to its inclusion in certain recipes that I have no choice but to have it on hand and since locally it is simply not available, I am pleased to find it here.

SO HAPPY. I love this stuff. When I was young we would get it at Trimingham's and when they closed I thought it was lost. It is like having my youth back. There is nothing like adding it to fresh conch chowder while your are in Bermuda . . . but it makes a lot of things wonderful. I love adding a bit to soups and stews. It is also a great addition to creole/cajun food.

Reminds me of my favorite place to visit and enjoy the ambiance, cuisine, and hospitality of the Bermuda colony.Wrapping of package could have been more secure with stuffing (?) material around the bottle. I can see how some reviewers said that their bottle was empty and broken. Packing materials would keep it safe and sound. I'm glad that mine was intact.

Great product. I discovered this on a trip to Bermuda, and I have always brought a large bottle home whenever, I have had the chance to go there. I just wish it was sold in a larger size.

Very good but the original bottle I bought (from a local shop the went out of business) had a pepper in the bottom that seemed to maintain the flavor of the sauce. You don't need much of this so the pepper worked well since the sauce lasts a long time!

This sherry sauce gives a subtle zip to soups, chowders and anything else you want it on. Great on scrambled eggs as well as pork chops. First had in a fish chowder in Bermuda.

My family has been addicted to this for years. Everyone has there favorite uses. I love it in just about any soup. It's great in egg dishes and my husband even adds it to salads. A quality product! I usually buy it at speciality food stores, first time purchased online.

I don't know how this happened but as i stated above one of the bottles did not come in the package it was supposed to be in and the bottle itself was opened. I'm not sure how this would occur but it did. Poor performance at best.
