I was never a fan of Jake LaMotta but because "Raging Bull," Martin scorsese's Oscar nominated film about him, starring Robert DeNiro, had so much about LaMotta's wife, Vikki, I was curious to know if the movie had been accurate in its depiction of her.I got way more out of her autobiography than I expected and thoroughly enjoyed her writing and, after the LaMottas' divorce, her later connections to Sinatra and Giancana. Not a dull page in this quick read.

I own a skin care site that carries a Vikki Lamotta product so when I read her biography came out I was intrigued. The book is an excellent read.Vikki was a victim. A victim of poor parenting, abusive relationships, and in many ways of herself. But she was also a survivor. And though many of the choices she made may not have been the right ones, she ultimately seemed happy with how her life turned out.The story is told through the eyes of Vikki. The author Thomas Hauser in tandem with Vikki does such a great job I felt like I was talking to her.Vikki also known as Vicki(born Beverly) seemed to have raised herself. A striking beauty, she turned heads at an early age. In her early teens she met Jake LaMotta and married him. The relationship turned abusive. Jake known as the Bronx Bull was made even more famous by the movie depiction of him by DeNiro in the movie Raging Bull. I rented the movie also and felt it was true to the story in the book, though leaving a lot out.In her early 50's Vikki shocked the world when she posed nude for Playboy magazine. People were amazed at her youthfulness. The issue was a huge success, and eventually resulted in her becoming involved with a cosmetic company.Vikki shares with honesty her hard times and good. I would like to have seen more photos but overall the book is a great little read and depiction of one woman's incredible life.~ Lee Mellott

This is such a wonderful informative exciting book to read that I could read this definitely within two days I’ve started today and I’m halfway done I can’t put the book down!Fans of boxing fans of Jake LaMotta fans of the 40s fans of Vikki a most Read!

"Raging Bull" is one of my all-time favorite movies. I was always curious about Vikki LaMotta. This book answered many of my questions. She had a very interesting life. Fast read!

Vikki LaMotta was an amazing, strong woman who lived a very interesting, challenging life. This really was a good read!

Was a good book and I enjoyed it but I didn't realise how small/short it would be. For a biography you expect a decent sized book but it was read in a day.
