I was getting frustrated by how the poor design of all Apple chargers means that they all end up breaking in the same way - by the cable splitting or fraying by the connector. I saw a blog post explaining how someone had used Sugru to save their chargers and cables from breaking in this same way, so thought I'd give it a go! I used Sugru to strengthen my cables on the parts that bend the most, and surrounded them with duct tape (although this probably wasn't necessary, but I wanted to make sure that my cables were protected). You can see in the photos that even when bending and pulling the cables around, the parts surrounded by Sugru completely stay in place.It's quite messy on your hands and fairly difficult to get it to mould to exactly the shape you want. After 24 hours, it will completely harden and feels like hard rubber. Comes with full instructions and ideas on how to use Sugru - it's so simple, but you can use it to fix, strengthen or seal pretty much anything.The only downside to this is the price, but it's still cheaper than having to replace chargers and cables all the time. It's handy to have some around the house just in case you need to fix anything. It's a bit of a miracle product and something that you don't really know that you need until you've actually started using it.EDIT: Six months later and chargers are still working great!

I bought this in July 2018. When it arrived, the cardboard packaging said "Use by 1 October 2018", which I thought was pretty short, even by Sugru standards, although my experience has always been that the stuff stays good for a few months longer than they say on the pack. In late September, I needed to mend something broken. It was then that I noticed the "use by" date on the individual sachets in the pack was "15 March 2016". In other words, the contents were over TWO YEARS out of date when I bought the pack of six sachets. Had I noticed at the time, of course, this would have gone straight back with a complaint. So, if you buy, check the box date AND the sachet dates carefully.

Ordered this item as from description it was exactly what I needed to repair a broken ornament. However, when I went to use it, it wasn't at all like blue tac in texture, it was hard and fell to pieces and completely unmouldable. I thought I was me not using the product correctly and googled how to use it and discovered I wasn't doing anything wrong. Completely perplexed I then noticed the product although dispatched and sold by Amazon had a 2019 expiry date and it had obviously far exceeded this and had gone off. If you have problems with this product I suggest you check the expiry date on the back of the packet. I have since ordered a replacement and whilst the replacement is in date, it only has 10 months to be used by. I would expect it to have at least 12 months from date of order.

Ho comprato questa pasta adesiva per fissare l'attacco della gopro al casco della moto: essendo la superficie dove volevo applicare l'attacco non perfettamente piana nè curva, l'adesivo dell'attacco non sarebbe bastato a garantire un adesione ottimale e sicura. Tramite questa pasta modellabile di facile utilizzo ho potuto fissare in modo ottimale l'attacco applicandola sul bordo. Il risultato è davvero ottimo: utilizzando piccoli accorgimenti spiegati nelle istruzioni ho ottenuto un risultato bello da vedere, ben rifinito e dalla adesione perfetta. Ho utilizzato l'attacco più volte con la gopro attaccata e non ho mai avuto nessun problema, la pasta adesiva è rimasta solida e adesa come appena messa, anche essendo esposta a condizioni atmosferiche avverse (vento, acqua, sole). I can’t begin to say how ingenious and fantastic Sugru is. I’ve used it to mend the soles of leaking shoes, drawer handles, a broken lamp, iphone cables and the shattered black plastic of my car’s wing mirror - perfectly moulded to the original shape using the shattered pieces and impossible to tell it has been repaired unless you touch it and can feel the rubbery texture. One of my friends has even used it to improve the waterproof seal on his shower door.It’s so easy to apply and shape and begins to set inside of 30 minutes so there’s plenty of time to shape it and work with it. It’s a lot like plasticine or blu-tack so shaping it, adding more and taking away couldn’t be easier. Inside of a day it’s fully set, bonded, flexible, waterproof and largely heat-resistant.
