It is solid. Easy to install if you measure it carefully as it comes with no instructions.I measured the diameter of the round platform under the switch knob, as 58 mm. I used a 2”1/4 hole saw to cut the hole though the aluminum sheet of my boat, the used a file to enlarge the hole a bit where it was passing through.For the machined screw, I used #8-32 of 3/4 inch with a slim nut, washer and lock washer. I first tried to use a nylon lined lock nut, but it prevented me from cover it with the covering box. So you have to use the slim nut. The length of the screw used may vary if you install it to thick boat hull/wall.

best battery switch out there, they cost a tiny bit more, but i wouldn't consider anything else. been around the marine business 15+ years and these are the only ones i trust. very good solid built switches, the only other ones that come close to this in quality is a perko, but they're huge and have terrible routing options in and out of their ugly huge housings, so it's a no brainer. go with this nice compact one by blue sea, you won't be disappointed
