Right now my cookset is comprised of the following: GSI 18oz Cup/Pot (the Stanley lid will fit the GSI cup as well - paracord shrouded handles) Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set (took out the two green cups) Condor H2O pouch Optimus Long Handle Titanium Spoon LMF Spork in bright yellow 3.9oz Camp stove with Piezo Ignition Brunton remote stove stand (and windscreen - for winter camping the remote allows you to place the canister upside down to aid in vaporization of fuel and the windscreen can go around the stove) Jetboil 100g canister Snowpeak 450 Single Wall Titanium Cup (paracord shrouded handles) Universal beer coozy (I got for free from some ESPN tailgate event, it's like those old slap bracelets from middle school except with foam - to go around the titanium cup to keep liquids warm for drinking and/or for wrapping around the gas canister to keep it from getting too cold in the winter) Domino strike-anywhere matches in a matchsafe Small bic lighter This setup was really created for two, but I also use it on my solo outings since it's all contained in the H2O pouch. I also carry a Guyot Designs steel 32oz bottle with a Humangear Capcap on top. I carry the steel bottle instead of a regular nalgene so I can, if I need to, just toss the whole bottle (minus the cap) into a fire to heat water. In the main compartment condor pouch: GSI Cup/Pot (cook set nested in cup) Stanley Adventore Camp Cook Set Jetboil Canister (inside cook set - bottom) Measuring cup I had laying around that's the same diameter as the cook set turned upside down over canister Matchsafe (marbles) Stove Lid to cook set Snowpeak Titanium Cup (all items after this are contained inside the cup) Salt/pepper shaker Two bottles tabasco (mre sized) Bottle of dish soap Coozy Then in the pocket of the Condor pouch: Windscreen Brunton remote stove stand LMF Spork in bright yellow Small eye-dropper of bleach for water purifying Small BIC lighter Again, this was set up for two BUT it also makes an incredible solo winter kit too. Everything is covered, and in redundancy if you're solo. I need to cut a little piece of green brillo to keep in it, but otherwise it's darn near perfect. If you're wondering about anything, just ask. I know that as I use it more I will likely make changes, but for now, it works well.

**Q: If these are made from Stainless Steel, then why do magnets NOT stick to it?**
A: Umm hate to get too nerdy but austinite phase of steel is non magnetic. That’s why with regular steel it isn’t magnetic when it’s hot, the pearlite and martencite phases convert to austinite when heated. Most stainless steel alloys stay in the austinite phase at room temperature hence why it isn’t magnetic. 18-8 isn’t a duplex stainless alloy...

**Q: Does anyone know if the 8oz. butane/propane canister fits inside this cooking set, if you remove the 2 plastic cups?**
A: Ditch both cups, get a ss cup (MSR, REI, or WM) that this pot will sit in. Turn the 4oz fuel canister upside down and drop it in the Stanley Pot. Put the pocket stove on top of that. You should have room for a spork, and some spice packs, a little dish soap and a small cleaning cloth. The SS cup is less weight than the plastic ones and you can cook in it. There are several YouTube videos on it.

**Q: What is total weight for this set?**
A: Hi Lilly. Cookset weighs a total of nearly 14oz. Without cups a weight of 7.5oz. I ditched the cups to save the weight and gain some room. Also ditched the plastic handle and put a split ring on.  Hope this helps. pgorja.

**Q: What's the most efficient way to clean the Stanley pot when you have limited resources on extended trips?**
A: CLEANING NOTE:  DO THIS WHILE ITS STILL WARM NOT HOT ! Just use dry/ moist sand or dirt to remove soot and anything left inside the kettle then wipe as as much as possible and rinse with clean water..after several camp fire uses mine still looks brand new! You can boil a little water in it to sterilize prior to using again you don't need to carry soap or steel wool and it's not bad for the environment. It's a win win.

Well I had all the needed camping gear to keep a family off the grid and alive for a couple nuclear half lives. The problem is it looked like it has survived at least one or maybe 2 of those half-lives already. As a kid my family and I went camping, snow/water skiing probably 3 of 4 weekends all year long my entire childhood. Since then I have had kids and all that slowed quite a bit, but now they are at the age I want to get them out enjoying "real live" vs virual life. I still go on my target shooting and camping trips myself but they really need to get out. My twin 9-year-olds (1 boy 1 girl) and both are in scouts now that has got them off the iPad and outdoors FINALLY!!! We also do other after-school activities and I have a 3 year old that loves playing outsdie vs inside so in short its time... That being said it makes for endless Amazon shopping and trips to local stores as well. The boy and girl scout packs they are in are VERY busy with outdoor activities with my son meeting up 2-3x a month and my daughters girl scouts 1-2x a month. So out with the old and in with the new. The Good: 1. NOT lightweight but light enough for backpacking. Why is this good? Because it will last. I said the sem for the full cookware set I bought that matches 2. I made these cups part of my CAMPING set, but these CAN be your backpacking set. 3. Everything is large enough to be user friendly and small enough to be camping friendly 4. You can add the companion full cookware set and have a REALLY nice set (shown in one of my photos) 5. Its designed to be used for hot or cold beverages 6. Everything cleans up easy which is a must when camping 7. IYou really get 3 cups with each set (shown, I bought 2 cups so I ended up with 4 plastic and 2 metal cups with lids). 1 metal and 2 plastic The Bad: Nothing bad to note just yet but I am going to have to buy one more cup so I have one extra plus one for my 3 year old Other Notes: Stanley has been around forever and they stand behind their products. I don't see why they would be different now. I saw a few negative comments but i always try to read those because often people are to bias or expecting perfection for a discount store price.
