Spiritual reflection book, great if you're Catholic
Really very well done. I'm getting a lot of out of this book and I feel closer to my faith. This book gives small, manageable lessons to reflect on as well as bite size anecdotes from the priest who wrote it that I particularly love reading most. I'm a busy mom and I like to read this when my kids are asleep for the night so I have quiet time to really soak in what I'm reading. Each chapter is small and takes me like 5-7 minutes to get through, but I'm a slow reader. I'm keeping this book in our family library so that my kids can read this one day when they are the appropriate age, perhaps around confirmation age. This is a spiritual reflection read that can be revisited many times throughout ones life and I definitely plan on reading it again in the future, if not every lent. If you're Catholic this is a great book to add to your collection.

I had a wonderful retreat…
A very unique way to journey through the Spiritual Exercises. I would recommend this book for those who have already done a formal walk through the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.

Very Accessible Devotional
A very good voice in the writing and content that prompts simple but meaningful reflections. Recommend as a good daily devotional.

Needed in this season.
This retreat is life changing! Currently in the 2nd lockdown in our country re covid 19.Originally found the YouTube version of this retreat & thought I needed the book. This is phenomenal! Fr. Mark's perspective is different from what I expected. The readings stay with me throughout the day & make me reexamine my approach to life daily.Highly recommend!

Disappointing and inaccurate
I stopped reading on day two when he referred to “Judeo-Christians” as a singular people, and to the Babylonian creation myth as involving maggots (it doesn’t, that’s either the Norse or other cultures). Downloaded a pdf of the actual Exercises and will just work from that…

Lots of religion in the book.
This book had a lot more religious content than I had expected.
