Lace: A Material World, Book 1

I have issues with novellas feeling really rushed and lacking the details and character building I expect in a story. But this was still pretty good

Enjoyed this one.This isn’t my first book by K.C. Wells I really like her style. The heat is just right!

This is a bff to lovers romance w/ lingerie kink. Two bffs who secretly love each other but will a kink come between now and a forever? This was a sweet, hot & beautiful. It’s short bubble bath length read.

Friends to lovers tale that explores a little kink and a lot of love.  Best friend dynamics change when they explore the sexual side of their attraction and discover the complexity of feelings and the power of love.  I loved the sweetness and gentleness of this fun story that has a touch of lace and fun with that kink.  Dave and Shawn explore their hearts and desires and find their love is important above all else.  This is book one of the A Material World series and i read and enjoyed and now i have listened and loved the story even more!

This had way too many issues with the plot line for it to actually be enjoyable for me. The fact that they’d been friends since childhood, and Dave was the first person Shawn came out to, but Dave was afraid to come out to Shawn. That he’d just drop the “I’m bi” bomb and then run out. The fact that Dave had had feelings for Shawn for some time, but rather than flirt with him he flirts with some random guy at the gym. (By the way, I wondered how far he would’ve taken that flirting if his girlfriend hadn’t caught him?) The fact that Dave still found it difficult to tell Shawn how he felt about him, even after they’d had sex, and would even avoid Shawn for a full week afterwards, which led to Shawn thinking that Dave was only interested in being with him for the kink. And then rather than explaining that that was not the case, Dave gets angry at Shawn and storms off. And then he goes so far as to tell everything to Jake – a guy who has the hots for him, which IMO is the equivalent to telling another woman your relationship is failing – including Shawn’s secret lingerie fetish. And that awful scene at Shawn’s parents’ house where the other guy is a jerk, giving Shawn an excuse to be an even bigger jerk and his parents don’t even call him on it. What was that? Add to all that no character depth nor development, leading to uninteresting MC’s, and nothing else going on in the story except the back and forth of “I can’t tell him I have feelings for him” despite them being best friends and I regret spending $1.99 on this.

This was such a good quick read. These two MCs have been friends forever but one was straight or so they both thought. All it takes is Dave finding out Shawn’s lacy little secret to set a match to the kindling that was already laid out.

I really enjoyed this book about two best friends who realise that they both want more from each other than just friendship.Shawn and Dave have been best friends since childhood, Dave was the first person Shawn told when he realised he was gay. What Dave doesn't know is that Shawn has loved his straight best friend for years and when Dave comes out and tells him he's bi it throws Shawn for a loop.Dave is struggling with his new feelings for men but especially his attraction to his best friend Shawn. When Dave discovers Shawn has a kink for sexy underwear things take a sexy turn but Shawn is worried that without the knickers Dave wouldn't be interested in him.Can both men deal with their feelings for each other and get the happy ever after they want.Recommended.

I thought this was going to be a bit cheesy,BUT,for a quick story,it had heart.shawn has it bad for his so called straight friend,however said friend tells him he's bi so feelings are shared, and heated moments turn to love.not bad.

Loved this story.A chance discovery leads to a destined relationship that one character obviously saw coming before Shawn or Dave.I love the lingerie descriptions and just how much of a turn on both men find it.

I was disappointed by how short it was. I would have loved it to have been longer, more of a slow burn. But the concept was great and fun, a different side of LGBT that what you can normally read.

I rather liked this short cheeky story, would have liked it to be a little longer but I thoroughly enjoyed it
