Great for toddler gifting
The Melissa & Doug Modeling Dough & Sculpting set is a fun, simple craft activity that keeps kids engaged and encourages creativity. The dough is soft, easy to work with, and a good consistency for little hands to shape, roll, and mold without being too sticky or messy. I also really like that Melissa & Doug products tend to be reliable and well-made overall, and this set was a great find on sale—perfect for gifting or stocking up for birthday parties and holiday presents. Overall, it’s a nice, straightforward activity set that promotes open-ended play, and I especially appreciate it as an affordable gift option when it’s discounted.

Love this set!
The Melissa & Doug Clay Play Activity Set has been a fantastic addition to our playtime routine! My almost 3-year-old son absolutely loves it. The set includes sculpting tools that are easy for little hands to use, and the 8 tubs of modeling dough keep him entertained for hours. I especially appreciate that it’s a wooden set—it feels sturdy and durable, which is a nice touch for a toddler’s toy. The lids of the dough containers have little molds, which is a fun feature and adds extra creativity to the experience. However, the dough containers themselves are a bit flimsy, and we found that the amount of dough included isn’t quite enough for extended play. We ended up buying additional dough, but that’s not a dealbreaker for us. Overall, this is a great starter set for toddlers. It encourages fine motor skills and imagination, and the tools and dough are simple yet effective for little hands. I highly recommend it for any young child who loves to create!

Well-Made and Hours of Fun
Great toy, and good change for a little boy from his multitudes of cars and trucks! Wish the wooden boxes had lids, but then again it likely would have cost more. Would recommend as there are many hours of entertainment in play dough. Lots of interesting choices in tools to help development a good imagination and artistic skills.
