I have had two of these units fail on me. Both times I was moving and had to remove the drawers to move the unit and when I tried to get the drawers back in at least one of the tracks ended up getting messed up. First time seemed like the rails inside weren't close enough to the rail on the drawer for it to fit back in once removed. The second time the rails on the lower drawer actually knocked the inner rail enough to bend some of it and release some of the ball bearings. Unless you are already settled in the place you intend to live the rest of your life, you should skip on this fire safe. I guarantee if you remove the drawers on this file safe you will be sorry. The only reason I have gone through this with two of them is that the first time happened within the first year. Yes, thats right, your $500 only buys a 1 year warranty. If you do have to have your dysfunctional unit replaced, keep in mind that the company won't take the old one back and you will have to pay to dispose of it.

Went to an office store, and they didn't have it in stock. They said we could order it online from the store, or do it at home. We decided to order from home, and I told my husband he should let me look on Amazon.com, because the store's website wanted the same $ amount, but over $100 shipping to boot. The dealer on Amazon didn't charge any shipping, and they delivered it when they said they would. The product is just what my husband was wanting, a fireproof file cabinet for important papers. Again, amazon.com has came through for us, with their amazing vendors and selection!

Product:This file safe is heavy as you would imagine -- 175 pounds heavy. The construction is very good. It has a plastic-coated exterior, which gives the safe softly rounded outer edges. Beneath the plastic, of course, the actual safe is constructed of heavier stuff. The drawers roll smoothly and the lock and key work as expected.Shipping: I placed my order on a Wednesday and it arrived unexpectedly only two days later on Friday, free shipping. It was delivered by a guy driving a full length semi truck. He was really relieved to find me at home, because he needed help lifting it down off of the truck, which had no tailgate. After that it was easy to move it via my dolly and even easier to unpack while still on the dolly. The packaging was pretty minimal, but there was no shipping damage.Other: I give it 4 stars rather than 5, like some others, solely because the manufacturer did not include legal size file rails, which seems like a logical and inexpensive feature to add.

Nice cabinet, good sliding action. As the other reviews have said, you need to get the rails from Sentry for legal folder sizes, but they're good about that. The width is snug for standard folders so I wound up using the rails for standard size files, leaving some extra space in the back for things besides files. Note that this isn't really a safe, the lock is not secure.

I always trusted Sentry and this safe has not only been turned into a place to house my valuables including some of my children's drawings but is has double duty as a night stand.

My delivery was four days ahead of schedule. That was awesome. I recieved this product within two days. The quality, its like cast iron. I don't know what I was thinking, but I didn't imagine a cast iron file cabinet. I love it, I'm guessing its the fire protection stuff they've incorporated on it. This is a great product whether its for the home or office.Just make sure, you have someone to help you carry it. It's pretty heavy for us girls.

This 2 drawer safe cabinet is the best one I know of. I have three of them now. And will most likely buy some more soon.

I bought these to replace ones that had gone through a fire. I had my photographs and negatives in them and all contents were fine.
