Great Rod. Easy to deploy. Light weight. Reels a little on the small side for myself and my son so we used our beach caster fixed spool reels ( rods too big to take with us) and the rods handled them with ease. My son caught a 2lb, 14 inch bass on his rod that put up a rousing fight and the rod handled it with ease. If you are looking for a capable, reasonably priced travel rod you can't go far wrong with this cracking rod.

Very late to review but this fishing rod has been amazing so far, I grabbed this late last summer to bolster my options. I'm someone that goes fishing on the Thames and coastal. With this rod, seeing the price and material I was skeptical but after landing a 21lbs ghost carp and 12lb pike I've got no issues. The reel is a bit temperamental but still gives you a smooth cast, have no issues with drawing the line back in but the size is my only issue. With the tip this rod can also be perfect for ledger fishing aswell as coarse which gives me the option to switch between using floats and weights. I really don't have any complaints tbh, it's held up, it's not degraded and I'm still looking to take this up Scotland this summer. 1 word of advice, any fish above 15lbs, take your time and just be patient because you will notice the strain sometimes where the fish put up a fight but for the price, this isn't just a begginers rod seeing as I've been fishing for over 13 years now. Would highly recommend, don't use the the frog lure as after a few strikes from predatory fish it literally disengrates

Nice little rod for a 7 year old. Love the tackle box and all the bits only down side is, the hooks are massive. Sort of hioks youd need to catch a small shark, the hook doesnt match the rod and there also barbed hooks which cant be used in most uk fishing places

Very impressed & feels like a good rod & for a telescopic rod it's a quality bit of kit, at a reasonable price, nice & light with good build quality so far no problems or bad points. Might even get a second one & as I've not finished since I was a young man in my late teens now late 40s fishing with my son who I also bought a telescopic rod I'm just getting back into this & for a decent budget think I chose well.

Cheap fishing rod, not worth £10

I’m just getting into fishing under the teaching of my brother. He suggested I get my own beginners rod. So this one seemed ideal. It’s actually a really good rod! One aspect I’ve disliked about fishing is lugging all the equipment around and putting it together. As this rod is telescopic it takes out that step and you just need to pull it out/push it in. It is just the rod, you need to get your own reel but that’s good as it allows you to select a reel for your needs. I’d highly recommend this for beginner fishers.
