Do you know what herbs aid tummy troubles? I didn’t until we read this wonderful book! Not only did this story enlighten me in terms of different plants and their holistic purpose, but the relationship between Sam, his sister, and the neighborhood was just absolutely heartwarming. You don’t hear of close knit family-like bonds of neighbors anymore, at least not since Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, and seeing it here was truly touching. We loved the story and the illustrations are fantastic! We expected nothing less from the amazing Mariam Poppins and the talented Angela Rahim!-Heba

Sitting here taking turns reading this book with my daughterAnd the contents even enticed my older daughters to sit in.I don't want to give too much away but we all learned a little about herbalism from an environmentally mindful young lad trying to care for a loved one. We even picked up a few vocabulary words along the way AND there is an awesome surprise at the end that you can use in real life!Why are you still reading this!? Put it in your cart now!

I purchased it for my grandsons who were brought up to appreciate nature and what nature does for us. Well, they loved and especially enjoyed doing the workbook you can purchase too. I hope this author write more books.

In addition to the work’s instructional value regarding herbalism, the author/illustrator do an exceptional job at bringing to life the pride, culture and esthetic beauty that is Black Baltimore! I bought two and am so satisfied that I’ll have to buy more.

Wow! This book is soooo refreshing. A sweet story of a big brother helping his sister who has tummy ache by foraging for the herbs used to make special herbal tea to aid her ailment. Love that it includes the Latin names of the herbs and correct technical info yet still accessible and suitable to kids of every kids and adults too! My 5 year old and 11 year old enjoyed it equally - looking forward to the next herbal medicine adventure! Highly recommend

Me and my kids learnt something new! We loved how the story portrayed the little boy for being so caring towards his little sister. My children picked that up right away! Saying how he’s so kind. Also going over the glossary and teaching them something new! I could also use this book to relate it to how the prophets used to use herbal remedies for medicine! We just got this book and loved it alhamdulilah. It promotes a positive sibling relationship rather than the usual "annoying siblings" narrative, as well as being respectful to your parents. It also promoted being kind and good stewards of the environment. We learnt some plant and insect names too.The main character is a black boy, and the female characters had afro hair and braids. Its beautiful to see a positive book that reflects my children's likeness. Cant wait to see more in this series

Read it with my children then bought more to gift to friends. I just love how this little book speak to all ages, it is easy enough for younger children yet it has this little extra geeky knowledge for older children. I love how herbalism is made simple and accessible for city kids. Above all love this super hero vibe and how empowering this book is for children !! Can I also say how refreshing it is to see not only one but several being represented and! We need more of this, thank you Angela 💖
