So many art pieces have been based on the bird in a cage. As I created this wire sculpture it occurred to me to fashion a cage without bars. An open cage for the worded bird to chill out and fly out at will. By the way, making wire art hurts. Bending wire is difficult. I'm not complaining, I'm just sore...fingers that is. Nothing particularly unique about the wire I use. Its industrial grade and leaves stubborn black residue on my fingers which requires scrubbing to remove. (Feeling sorry for me yet?) Anyway, hope you like my little bird in a non-cage, cage. And yes those are words comprising his body (hence, Worded Bird). The words are about birds; obvious I suppose. I mean why would I give him a body made of words referring to alligators, right? You'll surely find just the right spot for him on a shelf or easily pin him up in front of a window or to enhance a wall space. It's a fun piece of art which is created in free form style, meaning it's the overall shape, not detail, that's important to me. In most art, the beholder places the details in the imagery psychologically. Okay I'm getting way to deep for you now. All I know is that you will love this wire art in your home and as a nice gift for someone you care about (you know, birds of a feather and all that). Remember, the early bird gets the worm.
