Refreshingly savoury
All Day Baking - what a stunner! From it's beautiful presentation to delicious content it's a delight to read, and there isn't a single recipe I don't want to try. In it, Michael and Pippa walk you through the basics of making pastry before filling your mind with delicious ideas for how to use them. With helpful tips on how to adapt their recipes to create vegan or gluten-free versions and a big focus on whole grains and local ingredients, All Day Baking inspires you to get in the kitchen and have fun while encouraging more thoughtful and healthier food choices. Both comforting and creative, it's filled with savoury dishes that have expanded my baking repertoire and is a very welcome addition to the shelf. I love it!

Good mix of recipes
Bought as an Xmas present for my son, a budding chef and he loves it. Recipes are a good mix, easy to follow with lots of detail and pictures. A great purchase.

What a joy
This book is beautiful! I love the tivoli road baker it is a glorious read and this is another great book. I’ve made a couple of things already and really look forward to doing more, the ideas in the book are wholesome & delicious a really well written book 5* no question!

Recipes seem very rich
I asked my local public library to buy this book . They did wonderful public services . I know it’s well written and creative. I do like to bake but mostly dairy free. Though some recipes adapt to vegan They are a bit few and far between. I will try the vegan pastry to make my quiches and I will do preserved lemons and harissa but that is it for me. The recipes are long and I am not organised enough to work through them I am in awe of all the wonderful bakers on Jamie Oliver’s book book FB I make my own Jams, bread and butter pickles, sourdough and scones I have an allotment . All these I enjoy but sadly for me most of the recipes are a step too far. Ever the less well done to Michael James. I recommend to him Clive Mellum’s book 50 years in baking. Not fashionale but some gems in it that I rely upon.

Absolutely delightful book!
I absolutely love Michael James’ new book. I was quite excited and have used his first book as my baking bible for a long time. It’s my go to for all things fillings, bread and viennoiserie. His new book is packed with insights into the world of savoury pastry and some super inspirational recipes for pies and more. absolutely love it!

Passionately written and Recipes for all skill levels and a real page turner to know what to make first, excellent steak and stilton Pasty was my first choice.

A Must Have For All Pastry & Amazing Recipes
A Must Have!!! This book gives step-by-step instructions of different pastry styles, recipe ideas, different grains, vegan and gluten free options. The recipes are delicious, beautiful to make, and easy to follow. This is now my bible for all things pastry, and the selection of savoury recipes include sausage rolls, quiches, pork pies and good old fashion pasties, etc. All are amazing!! I LOVE this book!

A Beautiful Book with Wonderful Recipes
This book is wonderful! Not only is it beautiful, but the recipes and methods are genius, and I've loved everything I've made.The shortcrust pastry is what I've made most (seen in pictures). I've used it for so many tasty meals, snacks and desserts. The pumpkin scones (seen in pic) are such a unique blend of flavors and taste absolutely wonderful!I got mine for a gift from my boys, and I love it so much, that I got one for my daughter in law, who also loves it.

Amazing cookbook
I loved the first book from Michael James, and I knew I'd want to love his second book too - no disappointment here either. As a wine journalist, I was happy to discover a couple of fingerfood ideas which can be paired with wine - in fact, the cheese and ham palmiers (which was the first recipe I tried) I prepared in advance and put into the freezer and baked them upon my guests arrived for a wine party. Brilliant solutions for every occacions, highly recommend this book to buy and I am pretty sure one can never get bored with these recipes or the countless combination even in years.

A fabulous Australian Cookbook!!
I would rather buy a cook book than a novel and confess that our entire study's wall of bookshelves is completely filled with my much loved cook books. All Day Baking is a wonderful addition!! The recipes are adventurous but completely doable with excellent directions. I particularly recommend the "Mushroom, Red Onion and Tarragon Quiche" as well as the Persian Lamb Sausage Rolls'.
