Christmas Tradition- Hard Cover Book and Interactive Wooden Nativity for Kids

I decided to take a chance on this even though I thought my 6 year old was a bit to advanced for it. We’ve been doing it for 17 days now and she’s more into it then I thought she would be. My daughter is an advanced reader so the book was a bit too young for her, but she’s a visual learner and moving the wisemen to the Star everyday is a great reminder of what happened when Jesus was born and the true meaning of Christmas. We live in a multigenerational household and I’ve even recruited my elderly mother to hide the Star and then make up a riddle for my daughter to find it. It’s been a fun family affair. The wooden pieces are really well made and will last a long time. I’m super happy I took a chance on this.

We purchased this item in place of elf on a shelf because we wanted our daughter’s focus to be on the birth of Jesus while still having a fun tradition. It’s basically the same concept with the wisemen finding the star each day! We’ve had it for seven years and four children and they all love it. We have gifted to five god children as well!

My 5 year old and 3 year old loved finding the Wisemen every day. Christmas morning - we had to make sure they made it to the stable before we opened gifts! What a great way to reiterate the true meaning of Christmas! The pieces are sturdy and well made. The book - while good to read before it starts, is really only useful for the bible verses in the back once the countdown starts, unless you modify the last few pages to not include the instructions.

The book is beautiful and I love the scriptures to read each day during December. The Nativity is very well made and durable so it can be played with by my son. My older son is enjoying hiding the star each day and my 5 year old loves finding it and moving the 3 wise men to it's location. The box is very study and will hold up well during the years of taking it out and storing it. Good value for a fun New tradition that reinforces the reason for the season.

Giving The Christmas Star from Afar 5* based on word of mouth that this is a great game for children. I certainly think it will be!My husband and I purchased the game as a Christmas gift to our two young grandchildren, so the box has not yet been opened. Our oldest grandchild is 3 years old and has been introduced to the Elf on the Shelf for the last two years. He loves the "game", but we would like for him to better learn the reason for the Christmas celebration. With a new baby sister that will be over a year old by next Christmas season, we think the game of finding the star will interest both and help their parents in the teaching of Jesus Christ.

Great quality. Love the book that comes with it. I want my children to unstable the real reason for the season. The wood that the stable and pieces are made of are durable and I think it should last many years for our family. Would be a great gift for a family.
